Ok, I tried searching and didn't find anything (but let's be honest; vBulletin isn't known for strong search functionality), so sorry if this is a repeat.

Has anybody used any kind of... polish/cleaner/restoration product on the bumper trim pieces?

I replaced one of the 3 on my rear bumper not realizing how faded the other two are... and now the one I replaced stands out just as much as the old damaged one.

You can post up for Phil at Detailers Domain if you want. You're talking about he black trim, right? I really like pre-WOW and Super VRT.

I bought a can of spray paint, sanded it and then painted it. Paint is called Trim Black. Matches the factory plastic finish very well.

Same stuff I used on the mesh in the lower part of the bumper.

you can try to clean the area with an apc or 1Z einszett Plastic Deep Cleaner. (https://detailersdomain.com/1Z-einszett-Plastic-Deep-Cleaner_p_106.html)

Follow it up with Black Wow (https://detailersdomain.com/Black-Wow-Plastic-Trim-Dressing_p_155.html) or Sonax Plastic Restorer Gel (https://detailersdomain.com/Sonax-Plastic-Restorer-Gel-_p_1017.html)

What about the "white" mesh in the front? Is the only way to get that pulling the bumper or can I go at with a Q-tip and Forever Black?

Hah, when I found out how cheap new trim pieces were I just bought new ones. Have you priced them out yet?

Yes that was my first option. About $50 for the two. But ECST wants $49.50 for shipping. So lawl... BavAuto wants about $75 for the two pieces but shipping is about $15.

Right now emailing with one of the ECST reps about that.

ECS adjusted shipping from $50 to $20 so I placed the order.

Will look into everybody's suggestion for cleaners for my front/side trim pieces. Thanks!

How long is this supposed to last?
My experience with trying to 'rejuvenate" the trim pieces is that they don't look good for long before turning faded grey again.

I just plan on painting them.

Someone should try cerakote on a trim piece. It would most likely last for a long time and isn't too absurd depending on the shop.

Mine haven't faded to gray yet, just get a dull charcoal black color.

What I do is give my car a thorough cleaning, wax it, then take tire shine (the stuff that makes your tires, well, shine) and spray some on a paper towel. I then rub it into the strips (somewhat heavy layer) let it sit a few min then take a clean dry paper towel wipe up whats left (don't go crazy) and done.

Looks new for a few weeks and acceptable for a few months (depending on how bad your trim is).

This also works miracle for slightly faded headlights. Wipe it on, and let it shine.

Oh and lastly, it also does wonders at making the plastic and rubber under the hood look amazing after you clean in there.

Thx for tips spooner. I think I'll do that to maintain the new ones going forward.

Package arrived today (with a brand new sun shade, too!). Fastest part swap ever :P
