Greetings!

Just put the payment in the overnight. Yes, I'm buying a 2005 ZHP convertible over the Internet. Risky, but the dealer has a good reputation, and I was able to call around to find the dealer where it was serviced--seems to have been well taken-care of. I'll post pix when it arrives.

Looking forward to learning a bit and using the knowledge on this board--you guys have a great reputation!

To get the ZHP, I sold a one-owner '69 LeMans convertible in great original shape. I had it about 3 years, and did a little updating with power discs and exhaust. Old cars are great, but it was time to move on to something a little more modern, with AC, ABS, air bags, and a little better handling... Link: http://i.imgur.com/clpcqhU.jpg

Had an '88 M3 about 10 years ago--I'm eager to see how the ZHP compares to that amazing beast. Link: http://i.imgur.com/eNJokCK.jpg

Glad to be here!

Paul

Cobblestone streets, knucklehead touristy drivers who are forever lost, hope you have off street parking for your new vert.

Mmm....looks great. Vert, auto, black. What's not to love? Enjoy my friend.

What's the mileage and when was the tranny fluid last replaced?

I agree--it's a great color combo. I think the only colors I would prefer are IR with natural brown leather.

Mileage is 109k. Don't know about the fluid, but I tracked down the BMW dealer where the car was service. I'm going to give them a call on Monday to get details.

Ok. Feel free to let us know what he says, so we can throw our advice out to you, unless you're super experienced and/or don't need/require/want our help :)

Ha! Nobody's THAT experienced!

I'm a firm believer in the wisdom of communities--that's why I came here! I have been a member of VW Vortex for 15 years, and the most memorable help I got there was when the ABS module on my 1999 Passat went south. Instead of spending $1,200-$1,500 at the dealer, I removed it myself and sent it off for a rebuild for $200--all from friendly people on the Vortex walking me through it. I don't know if you've ever experienced it, but when the ABS module goes bad on a B5, the damn dash lights up like a Christmas tree and yells at you. All with NO indication what the actual problem is! So rather than panic, I remained calm and fixed it.

Long story, but demonstrative. I'm looking forward to many years of fellowship here!!

I'm betting they won't tell you much. For some reason they treat car maintenance almost like HIPAA.

I know your anxious to take deliver!
