2004 with OEM Nav. I went out to my car yesterday, and when I tried to turn on the radio as i always do--they orange power indicator light next to the power button in the bottom left corner of the screen did no illuminate.

Symptoms:
- radio does not turn on; can not toggle between FM, CD, AUX etc
- Bluetooth phone connects, but no sound when making calls
- Nav works fully except no sound (i.e. maps work, directions work etc).

Basically, I believe there are 2 parts that are running things here--the amp and the radio module. The radios are about $400 and the HK amps double that.

Has anyone seen this before? I'd prefer to not throw parts at it without better knowing what's actually broken.

Thx!

I Haven't heard of this. Does seem like the unit and not a fuse, etc. I saw someone selling theirs.

look on xoutpost.com, they have good NAV info. No idea as to the cause. My NAV does weird things sometimes and just the car on/off fixes it. As someone mentioned, someone on this site is selling theirs.

Maybe it's just the button for the radio? Does that button do anything when in nav mode, and if so, does it function?

I'll scan the car later today and report back. The radio part # is 65126988276. Probably just needs a new BM53 radio module. Groan

I Googled that part # of the radio... First thing that comes up is the X3 Nav retrofit that I did years ago. LOL

Took to my friend's shop--unplugged both the amp and radio for 15 minutes, plugged both back in, and voila, everything is working again. We think the HK amp is on the fritz though. Charlie: What is the part # of your HK amp? Wonder if it's the same...

thx!

cross referenced the part #. Sedan uses a different HK amp than coupe / vert. Thanks anyhow Charlie.

Imagine that! I always figured the radio and amp would at least be the same between platforms......
