Not sure what these go for. I'll start at $300 shipped. If that is off base, let me know.

Comes with all hardware, original box, etc

They're all about the same, there really isn't much (2-5hp) an intake alone will do. You're basically buying it as a noise maker

I just wanted to make sure that it's not going to outperform my current

Not sold yet? Son has AFE and loves it. I had it before him. Loved it as well. I paid $395 new for mine. Pro 5R dry.

Not sold yet. This definitely out performs the gruppe m (currently installed in my car). At least according to the butt dyno

K&N says +11.4 horsepower at 6k RPM
That's not bad.

Is that really a believable figure?

No

BMW rates their performance intake at +3 HP. External sources say it's more like +7 to +10 HP. So, 11 isn't a ridiculous claim, it may be high, but you wouldn't really feel it regardless by itself.

Would a manufacturer overstate their "potential" horsepower gains for any reason?
Lol of course they wouldn't. :shift

I think the "estimate" is on base models. The numbers should not be assumed to mean ZHP unless specially advertised as such.

I continue to believe they all work about the same. Any difference is so minuscule you wouldn't be able to actually tell without a dyno. The only real difference would be sound

Well with stock tuning no probably not. Tuned the drop in will make more than the gruppeM tho

K&N's sound doesn't really change because it's the same system. It's not a noisemaker with a shorter pipe and oversized ram filter, which will sound different.

I've never heard that about the performance intake.

My butt dyno concurs with 3, as in barely noticeable
