First, I'd like to thank Dane for getting me squared away with my membership.

I've always loved BMWs since I was a kid and had an e46 M3 on my wall since I was in high school. As a married man with plans for kids in the not too distant future a sedan is a must. I had an '02 330ci that I loved to death but sold when I was traveling for work and needed a car with AWD. Now, with a new job involving much less travel, I'm looking to get a BMW again and have my heart set on a ZHP sedan.

I've been looking for the past month. I'm currently looking at a '04 ZHP Dinan S sedan MT in Imola Red but am hesitating to pull the trigger since EAG wants $22k for it and won't budge. It's in amazing shape and drives extremely well, but the price is hard to swallow.

Any way, I'm excited to become a part of the community and look forward to sharing some pics when I get one.

Welcome. And imo don't go with eag. Their markup is crazy.

Make a wtb zhp thread and list what you want.

Welcome and yes I've looked at EAG selection in the past and haven't been impressed for the price. My daughter & Son-in-Law are in the area of EAG. There are many posts here for good privately owned ZHPs. GLWYS

Welcome and yes, building one is much more fun (and affordable) than buying one - especially from EAG

Thanks everyone! I will see what I can find. I'll be reaching out poke08!

It's tough. The car is a 1-owner, 66k mileage car with no issues, cooling system replaced, just the right amount of Dinan work on it. Also, I live about 20 minutes and work 10 minutes away from EAG.

Welcome. GLWSearch. You can find one and add the Dinan parts for less, including the DIY maint for cooling, etc. Many family members would be happy to help guide and/or wrench with you.

welcome to the site!

i know if a really nice Silver Coupe in Dayton, OH thats for sale with 80k miles (body in great shape) and i know of a nice Silver Sedan slick top in Cinci for sale with 120k on the body (GREAT shape inside and out) and 60k on the motor (mechanically probably the nicest deal you'll find as EVERYTHING major has been done). If you're interested in either LMK.

Welcome. I've heard good reports from those who did go with EAG. (They are way out of my price range though)

I think you can find a great car with records without paying the EAG premium. Even if they go over the car with a fine tooth comb doesn't mean something won't break. I'd rather pay 5-7K less and have that money as backup for mod- I mean repairs.

Welcome aboard and good luck!

Agreed. You just have to exercise a fair amount of patience for the right one to come along.

I have closed a deal in a car for $10k less than what EAG wanted. Similar mileage, 2 owner instead of one. I will be picking it up on Friday next week. Will post some pics once I get home.

So, I've picked up my BMW and would like to give a special shoutout to BMWCurves for posting it on the classified. It's a 2-owner, AW, sedan with 61k miles. It spent most of its life in Maryland (not the best place nor the worst, I guess) but then migrated to Florida with the 2nd owner. I picked it up for $11.8k, much lower than the $22k EAG wanted for theirs. The only immediate fixes it needs are some new Xenon bulbs (they are very dim) and a new airmass meter boot as there is a crack in the current one. I've snapped some pictures that can be seen below along with my to do list. I need to update it for various maintenance items (i.e. bushings, cooling system, etc.). Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks again for the warm welcome!

Nice find.

BTW the dim lights are probably because of the burnt bowls and not the bulbs

I would bet your ZKW bowls are burnt and require replacement, not the Xenon D2S bulbs. Many of us have gone thru this issue... so you can either rebuild your headlight assemblies like I and many others here have done or you can order new headlight assemblies to replace the worn ones you now have. Just a heads up.

Congrats on the ZHP.... looks like you got a nice one :thumbsup

Congrats! I was wondering if someone around here was going to pick that one up. I would have been all over it if it were a manual transmission. Alpine white was one of my top preferred colors when I was searching, it just looks perfect on the ZHP to me. Also, welcome to the family; you'll love it here! Everyone is incredibly helpful and it is easily the best enthusiast forum I've ever been on.

As previous people have said, the lighting issue may well be due to burnt ZKW housing bowls rather than the bulbs themselves. Looking at the rest of your list, can I ask why you budgeted $495 for the steering wheel? Coby refreshes alcantara for much cheaper (see referral link above) and even my leather/perforated leather wheel was about $360 with shipping (see pic below).

Otherwise, looks good! Enjoy the new ride.

It was the one in Stuart. They were pretty good to deL with overall. The only issue I had was that they agreed to fix the sagging pillars but didn't. Other than that, they were great.

Where did you get your wheel? I've been searching but unable to find a leather one. I read up on Coby, but don't want alcantra.

Also, I would have preferred a stick , but the wife wasn't going for it. Not worth fighting over.

That's only a couple of hours away from me and I thought about picking it up but when I mentioned auto to the wife she gave me look that said "seriously?". She knows how easily I get bored with autos so I held out. Awesome price for the miles.

It's making some weird noises. Sounds like the compressor is a little loud right now.
