Warning/disclaimer - iPhone pics ahead, sorry I don't have a better camera right now.

Well, for the 1st time in my life, I paid someone to detail one of my vehicles :facepalm I've always done this work myself, but this time I said screw it and paid a local shop. The X5 is a big vehicle, and mine needed some major attention in regards to the paint, so instead of spending an entire weekend and my own muscle, I dropped it off and picked it up a day later without having lifted a finger. Well…other than removing the credit card from my wallet!

Vehicle - 2012 E70 X5 xDrive50i (TT V8) M Sport - Alpine White/Cinnamon

Work done -
All original film/clear bra removed (was heavily faded/yellowed)
Front windows tinted to match the stock/factory tint on the rear windows
Full exterior detail - hand wash, full clay bar, machine polish, wax/sealant, + wheel cleaning/sealant & interior 'spiff'

I'm really happy with the work done by Metropolitan Detail (Bellevue WA), one of the top rated shops in the Seattle area. I had debated whether or not to remove the original film as it was still serving a purpose, but in the end I couldn't get past it's poor condition and opted to remove it, even though I wasn't going to replace it. And despite not being a fan of window tint, I'm really happy I opted to tint the front windows to match the rears. Okay onto the pics…open to your input/thoughts/opinions…

Looks good to me! I've always had a soft spot for a white BMW with slightly tinted windows. The contrast is nice. You can always get black wheels and trim and go to The Dark Side AKA stormtroop it out if you're feeling juvenile:

It looks great. I don't know why you wouldn't be a fan of window tint. It looks great, protects the interior, and keeps the car cooler in summer! First thing I did to my ZHP was tint all the windows, even the windshield.

It's a great looking vehicle as is. It could be a little more personalized with some tasteful mods if you wanted. Black kidney grills, black whatever those silver lines are on top of the car, black mirrors, roundel black CF overlays, and even gunmetal wheels. That is a long list, but it's what came to mind. Only giving my opinion because you asked though.

Like I said, it's a great looking car as is. Enjoy it!

I would put a new clear bra on the car imo. Just had a client turned in his x5m and got a new one. Full hood, fenders, bumper, side skirts, a pillar/roof and fender flares on his new x5m. Really got to go with the 3m pro series. That stuff is great.

Gorgeous ride! One of my favourite colour combos, too.

Wow, I guess I forgot I made this thread…asked for opinions/input and then never checked back in :slap

Anyhow, thanks everyone for the replies! I ended up having the front windows re-tinted to 35%…if you look closely in the pics the fronts are actually a bit darker than the rears, which bugged me. Now it's a perfect match.

I've definitely got a new opinion of window tint. Still don't like it dark, but a lighter tint does look good to me, though my ZHP doesn't have any tint.

The 'silver lines on top of the car' are the roof rails - I like them in silver, especially on a white vehicle, and the silver rails are specific to the M Sport package, otherwise they are black. Silver roof rails do sort of stand out too much on black X5's, IMO. Appreciate the comments.

I want to re-wrap the front, just don't want to drop $2000+ to do it. With all the different panels on the front and the other sections I'd want to do, such as in front of the rear wheel arches (major problem area on the X5 M Sport which doesn't have running boards to help keep debris from kicking up), the labor is $. For example…the front wheel arch would require a different piece of film and additional labor as it's a separate body piece than the front fender. For the cost, I would rather spend that $ on the Dinan tune and bump HP & TQ up in the 500's :eeps I'm sure the wife would thinking nono to that.
