Which one to buy:

ZHP A:
2004 330cic Vert
TiSilver/Gray
41,000 Miles
Nav, Heated Seats, No Xenon
$14,500

ZHP B:
2003 330i
AW/NB
57,000 Miles
Cold Weather, Xenon
$17,500

Both 6mt, outstanding condition. I have first dibs on one and I think second dibs on the other so choice may get made for me. On aesthetics car B is probably a top 2 color combo to me. For car 1, while silver over gray isn't my favorite, I think it can be rectified by breaking up the gray with some black bits (thinking two tone black gray door panels kinda like natty brown).

Is car 2 worth the price premium over the vert? I think car 2 is an EAG quality car and they would mark it around $22k (not worth that but is it worth $17?)

+1 Sedan over 'vert big time for me. Plus you want the Xenons...among other things.

Car 2 is definitely worth the premium considering that is a fairly "normal" premium and not as you mentioned the crazy EAG type.

Option B. Just make sure she really satisfies your expectations before pulling the trigger. AW FTW !

B for sure if you can get the price down. That thing should have an ESS TS2 on it at that price!

I called the owner of B on Thursday or Friday. He was set with someone else to sell it pending a PPI today. That said, between the two I would personally love option B. I actually called to see if I could pick it up for my father who likes mine so much he now wants a ZHP.

Yeah, that's what I mean about the decision getting made for me. I'm second in line if anything falls through with guy number one.

there are a ton of other ZHP's for sale, whats limiting you to these 2 options only?

I assume it has something to do with mileage. There aren't a whole lot of low mileage options out there so location plays a big difference into the low mileage options.

I'm not limited to these two only but I would like to find a nice low mileage car with excellent paint condition for something less than EAG pricing. There just aren't that many sub 60k cars out there anymore.

Unfortunately this seems to have turned more into a vert vs sedan thread and that's not what I'm looking for as I like both.

I'd say don't worry about the mileage as much as the condition and open up your search. My Zhp had about 96k when I got it and was in just as good of shape as a car with 9600 miles on it.

Agreed. Some people do a damn fine job preserving their higher milage cars.

Nature of the beast. Option A appears to be a great car that most of us would snatch up in an instant if we were in the market.

Option B just left the building (it was a long shot to begin with). Really leaning towards the Vert. My last 3 cars have been Miatas so this would scratch both itches at a pretty decent price for the miles. I think I can deal without the Xenons.

Grey interior on TiAg is probably going to bore you to death. Personally I'd keep looking.

Since you asked.... Neither White nor TiAg do anything for me so neither that nor the interior would be part of my consideration. So being a vert would totally trump a non-vert. But that's just me. (Please, no flames from TiAg or White owners. :biggrin )And he would help out the grey as he said.

If you're leaning toward a convertible regardless of Option B being sold, you might want to wait. Over the past few months there have been a handful of low mileage (sub 70k) with manuals on here. They're out there. But if the one you're looking at now checks all the right boxes for you, go for it.

Verts are dime a dozen for sale, many of which have lower mileage.

Yes, you are correct verts are a dime a dozen, however 6MT verts are not. With sedans it was about 60/40 in favor of manuals, with coupes it was close to 50/50 but with verts its closer to 20/80 in favor of the steptronic so no, they are not a dime a dozen.

Charlie is fine Jay ;) My ///M started life from Germany with Grey nappa leather interior. When I purchased it back in April 2010, it still had the full gray interior. A few years later, I changed out the entire interior with Botond's help using OEM black and CSL parts...more suited to my tastes ;) It's all there in my project thread including pics :p

Haha, yeah. At first, I was going to respond "Et tu, Charlé" but then I thought, you know what? I'm new as f***, I had a pitcher of Negro Modelo, then a few Larcenys when I got home, I might be thinking Charlie is someone else. Let's just screen-name it, since only me and Dane are social enough to put our real names in the signature. lolllll...

Yeah, the basket case I went to buy was black Alancatara #winning. Instead, I ended up with TiAg on grey leather... AGAIN. Dead serious, two in a row. Same exact damn color combo. Both with sunroofs I don't want. Never settle!!!!!

Unless it's a deal, then settle yo tail off. :rofl

Grey leather doesn't kill me so much. But you can bet that if that moonroof shits the bed, slicktop swap will be happening. :roundel

Edit: and yes, I will change it to my liking, I don't plan on ever selling, I've had the FBO 335i and IMHO, the ZHP is more fun for me. :)

Shooooo. I wish. No one makes a sedan roof so I'd have to prototype it.

I was going to swap the car I was looking at originally, but the one I ended up with has a working unit so no need... For now.
