New Member in LA

Hello ZHP Mafia! My name is Andrew, and I'd like to introduce myself as the buyer of this 2004 Mystic Blue ZHP, from this ad on the forum: http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?15854-2004-ZHP-Sedan-6MT-Mystic-Blue-Grey-Leather-84K-miles-SF-Bay-area-13-5K

I live in Los Angeles and the car was in the Bay Area, so I made the arrangements to fly in and drive the car back home over a weekend. Tim picked me up at the airport, and was also very gracious to include all the parts for a coolant system refresh, extra oil, filters, coolant, new lower grille, and a copy of the Bentley manual in the sale, which was really the cherry on top! He recommended joining the forums and contributing to the community, and since I found my new car here I couldn't agree more. I commenced my ownership with a nice road trip back down to LA the following day, and have since been really enjoying being behind the wheel of the ZHP.

So far, I've only made two changes to a great setup, but have plans for just a few more:


Added a iPod Bluetooth module to the DICE Silverline for wireless music streaming: http://www.amazon.com/CoolStream-Bluetooth-Receiver-accessories-Motorcycles/dp/B00GHUHMUS
Replaced a few burnt-out tail light LEDs and a faulty resistor pack, following this guide: http://www.e46fanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=880623
Will add gloss black kidney grills to match the window trim: http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?3883-Adam-s-Orient-Blue-Metallic-(2005-BMW-E46-330-ZHP-Sedan)
May swap in an auto-dimming mirror in the future


As I get to know the car better I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions and comments when I start tinkering with it, and if you see me driving around town (or more likely just stuck in traffic) just honk and wave hello!

Edit: just realized our cars both have grey leather with silver cube trim! Awesome!

Nice, I'm glad you decided to join after picking up the car! I remember thinking when that ad popped up in the classifieds that the next owner was going to get a great deal (plus a ZHP with the best exterior color available IMO). You'll like it here, easily the best car forum I know. As for the auto-dim mirror retrofit, it is pretty easy if you have a mind to go through with it.

I will also be borrowing that guide for dead LEDs since I noticed my driver's side turn signal has a low output LED, so thanks for that!

Wow, thanks everyone for such a warm welcome! Mystic Blue and grey leather is definitely a very handsome color combo, it's gotten plenty of compliments already! Unfortunately I can't make it down to SD tomorrow but I'd be interested in a garage day sometime in the future -- I'm in West LA so the south bay isn't too far away.

The South Bay is LA. What they call the south bay there is just a direction. :)

Hahaha fair enough. It would be easy enough for me to relo to Norcal (IT guy) but my wife would never allow it as the grandparents are in Va. and Ga. and the great grandparents are in NC. So yeah, no. :offtopic
