Found on Craigslist. Black on Black leather interior (I think). No Cold Weather Package. I don't think it has the Premium Package.

Ok, I know it's an automatic but that seems like a steal. Am I missing something?

Could be salvage title...or not know what a zhp is.

LOL

I don't trust anyone on Craigslist when it comes to that info...looked at too many cars with Erin over the last few months that said clean and then I had my buddy run them only to show them having hit everything but the lottery!

This is absolutely nutty! 9k ?!? 48k miles?!?
If it checks out... this is a steal.

+1

Get the VIN and we'll find out...seller probably doesn't know what a ZHP is.

Power folding mirrors? Orly? Why do that one mod and leave the rest of the car untouched?

The car looks like it's in really nice shape (even with the crappy photos), so I believe the mileage figure. Someone should check this one out in person.
I do agree, the seller probably has no idea about what a ZHP is though.

The seller also lists it as 4WD, as a 4 cylinder engine. I assume there's a catch here somewhere, but if not, it is an absolute steal.

$9k with 48k miles, California car? Something's probably wrong with it. You know, the old "salvage title - but only because of a minor fender-bender" kind of trouble. I think it's insane that CL doesn't require sellers to include VIN numbers in their ads.

For sale for 27 days. If this was a clean car it would have sold in hours. Guaranteed scam.

Not listed as a ZHP, owner probably has no idea. Most people who look for a ZHP use the terms "330i ZHP" right? Or just "ZHP"?

One big mistake the seller made is not leaving space in the title between 330i and all those exclamation marks. This ad won't turn up in searches for "330i" (restricted to searching the title) unless the searcher uses a wildcard (ex. "330i*", or better yet, "330*").

Hmm. Learned something new today. Thanks!

True about the vin but since he didn't cover his license plate you can look up the carfax by that number.

Interesting. Looks like Craigslist's search system removes special characters (or at least exclamation marks) from words prior to indexing them. This is definitely not the case with normal characters. For example, here's an ad (http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/5163605684.html) with the title of "2005 BMW 330i Sports Package". If you do a search for "2005 BMW 330i Spo," you won't find it, but if you use a wildcard as in "2005 BMW 330i Spo*," it'll come up fine. This is very useful as some people might not write the 'i' in '330i,' so searching for '330*' will give you more (potential) results (but will also pull in things like 330xi).

I find the 'or' operator (|) to be very useful, too. You could use it to look for specific years (2003|2004|2005|03|04|05), or in combination with other keywords and other operators. For example, "2003|2004|2005|03|04|05 BMW 330*|ZHP|ZAM|S767 -330xi" will do a search for:
- model years of 03-05, written in either two-digit or full four-digit format AND
- the string 'BMW' AND
- either the string 330 followed by any number of any characters, OR the string ZHP OR the string ZAM, OR the string S767 AND NOT
- the string 330xi.

Maybe he likes to leave cars stock, except for aesthetics? I bet he hasn't completed cdv delete yet...
