Stutter at 80 mph/CEL

My wife's car stutters occasionally when accelerating up to 80 mph and the CEL comes on. Believe the code was 2240 for bank 2 sensor 1. I replaced that sensor and it's still doing this. Is this just the DME requiring an update? What all does the update adjust?

Yeah, there about. I read on some other forums that BMW had a DME update to address O2 sensor tolerance sensitivity or something like that.
