Greetings, members of the ZHP clan: I have no choice but to sell my beloved ZHP for personal/health reasons, and to sell it as quickly as possible. If you or anyone you know outside this forum is interested, please read on. I have priced the vehicle at US$10,000.00 for one simple reason, and that is expediency. There is a catch, however: the buyer and I will have to come to an agreement, with a deposit/down payment in place, by Sunday 31 October.

I am aware of the challenges that my location presents, but they are not terribly onerous – my car was originally purchased in California (the owner emigrated here 5 years ago) and thus does not have to be altered to adhere to U.S. vehicle standards, as a car that originated in Canada would have to. As for the distance involved, I am available to deliver or drive the car anywhere in the U.S.except the eastern coastal states for an additional $1000.00 (less if the buyer lives in Washington or Oregon).
I am the 3rd owner of this car. Since the original owner arrived here in 2010 the car has been serviced – with one exception: tires and front brakes – at the same BMW specialist. I have all service records from 2010 on as a result, and have a CarFax report that lists what was done to the car prior to that.

The vehicle is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition. It has never been smoked in. The car is complete with all manuals and a set of 2 master remote keys. It comes fully loaded with every option available, including Navigation, Harmon Kardon Premium sound system, upgraded leather seats, heated seats with individual memory settings for different driver, bi-xenon adaptive headlights, etc.. I have just finished restoring the interior leather with Leatherique ‘Rejuvenator’ (if you don’t have this product you might want to try it out! That 'wear' spot on the front left of the driver's seat is no longer visible), so the interior looks fantastic. Oil changes have been made religiously.
Full disclosure: (a) the car needs a windshield wiper pump; (b) it will require a system check soon; (c) 3 of the 4 wheels have some curb rash;(d) it recently suffered a small 2” dent to the passenger side door that is difficult to see/capture with a camera but I will keep trying. I believe it can simply be punched out; (e) the lower front fascia has been scraped in places thanks to the occasional unnecessarily high parking lot curb. That is it.

It’s been an absolute joy to drive, has never given me any problems, and I am having a hard time getting my head around having to part with it, but there you are. I know the phrase is tossed out all the time when something is sold, but $10,000 for this car really is a steal. Having compared mine to numerous other ZHPs in similar condition, with these features, I believe it would/should normally sell for between $14,500-16,500. I purchased the car 2 years ago for $17,500.00 (ok ok, in CDN$, but our dollar then was not what it was now in terms of USD!)

Had an agreement with Bryan to buy this car until my own health issues put an end to that. Looks like an outstanding car to me, and Bryan is accommodating and easy to work with - will make somebody REALLY happy!

A steal this is, and unfortunate that health/personal reasons are the driving force behind the sale. I hope you find a good owner for it.

Hello Dane, There's not a spot of rush on the vehicle. Alas, rear windshield had to be replaced because I got caught between two homeless guys and sure enough a bottle fight ensued and one of the fellows landed an extra large (60lbr?) bottle smack on my rear windshield. That took me out of the market for 3 weeks in September, when I had just listed it.

With that being said -
If the car is purchased by someone on the East Coast in the US, I can code it back to miles / imperial if the new owner wishes.

The Mantiicore
10-29-2015, 05:50 PM
That is correct - register me, who grew up with both systems, as a dolt. In fact, as time moves forward we are looking at 80,700 miles. She has just turned over 130,000. Anyone know how to edit the title to a post/thread?

All those interested in this car of mine: my older brother (caretaker) is telling me to move things along, sell it tonight if possible. He will throw it in. I will take an additional USD$ 500 off the price if we can do this tonight, by 9PM pacific time (that's in two hours). So the price will be USD $9500.00 until then. Deposit can be made via, well, the fastest way online would be Western Union - US to CDN banks can take several days. Deposit refundable upon the car passing PPI. You have my word, and the zhpmafia clan can witness this. Forgive me, Dane and all of you if I am breaking protocol, but just got some crappy news.

Bryan

(I told him this was a dumb idea, but it stands til 9pm. I'm going to rest til then. Too much time on here today).

Well, here it is Sunday and I still have my ZHP. I'd be lying if I said I'm not completely befuddled by this! I gather the location is playing a major role in things, but it really shouldn't; not if I'm open to taking it across the border into the States, where it originated.

Thank you all for the kind words of encouragement & support, and Dane in particular for the many "bumps," and for clarifying a few things that I had missed or left ambiguous. There are a few discussions taking place, so who knows? I'm optimistic that the car will have a good new home by the end of this week (surely?). This is a lot of car for $10K!

Just noticed your location, Peter ... a great part of the world! Lots of good memories associated with Sandbanks - camping, swimming and general carousing with friends in my late teens/early 20s. If it were mid-July or August I'd consider driving the car directly to you, and pretending for a moment that the dollar was at par!

To all Mafia members who took an interest in the car & offered support & luck, thank you - it has found a new home. I had no choice but to sell it this week to, of all people, a (gulp) a dealer of used 'premium/luxury' cars. After 2.5 months, numerous verbal commitments to buy, including two parties who essentially said I needn't advertise any longer because they "were taking it" but didn't, I simply couldn't do it any longer. I'm thankful I will never again have to relive this experience, as it was among the most painful of my life!

I will spare you - and myself - the details of the sale & final price, but suffice it to say that the offer I had no choice but to accept was an insult and left me sputtering in rage, tossing the keys to the smarmy bugger. A few of you will likely kick yourselves when I say that the listed price of $10K, done to facilitate a quick sail, turned out to be something of a pipe dream. If only i had gotten that much! But no ... in the end the smarmy dealer got a car for a third - no, a QUARTER given the exchange rate, of what it was worth. $10K? Lol ... to get there the dealer could have purchased the car & taken his wife & 3 kids on a 3-week vacation to Europe. M

Jeesh ... sorry to go on like this! Obviously, this one hurts & will continue to for while yet. Thanks again for the encouraging words & support. To those members who expressed real interest in the car and, specifically, those who 'committed' to buying it but in the end just disappeared without saying a word or returning my calls or emails: bah humbug.

Bryan

PS I will leave the CAD up there until Sinday evening.
