Hi all,

Just joined - looking to upgrade to a ZHP after just selling my E36 M3. Learned a lot from this forum already, and looking forward to learning a lot more / getting to know everyone. If there are any local Chicagoans, could probably use some help when looking at ZHPs. Thanks a bunch, very excited to join this community!

That's a great looking m3 coupe.

There are members in the Chicago area and I'm sure they will chime in.

But out of curiosity why the change from the m3 ?

My parents got into a bad car accident recently - side airbags saved their lives. Looking to get a car with side airbags/better safety features.

Welcome, and glad to hear your parents are okay!

Good luck in your search! It took me a while but I finally found one and have loved it ever since.

There were a bunch of recalls on the airbags for the ZHP's. Mine in particular Coupe Vert had recalls on the front airbags and passenger side airbags. So do yourself a favor and if you're in the market, make sure you check that the proper recalls for airbags were taken care of.

Many will have done the passenger's side airbag recall, but not many will have had the driver's side replaced since that is more recent. BMW's only replacing them either for cars located in or delivered to Hawaii and Florida (I think).

Welcome. And, what he said. Besides, If recall wasn't done it's still going on and it's no charge so don't make that a condition for purchase.

Welcome. I used to own a 1992 325i e36. That was my first BMW. The fever continues after almost 12 years.
