I have an '04 330CiC and it's currently got amber turn indicators on the headlights. I remember reading somewhere that it's possible to replace the indicator lenses to make them clear, but I can't find that post again. Is this true or have I had too many egg-nogs this week?

I believe you can change the turn signal lenses in the headlight assemblies. You'll have to source some clear lenses since I do not believe they were manufactured/sold separately though. The DIY I imagine is similar to an angel eye installation in that you have to bake and/or heat gun the headlight assembly to remove the headlight lens to access the turn signal lens.

Aha. I had read that the headlight would have to be disassembled to do this. Thanks for the heads up. I'm hoping someone here has already done this.

I did AE's on my ZHP coupe and you do have to bake/heat gun the lights apart. The turn signal lenses can easily be swapped once apart but the hard part is sourcing the clear lenses. You can't buy just the lens from BMW or suppliers. I had a new pair I bought from a member for $60 shipped but sold them after selling my ZHP.

Welcome. You might want to post a thread over on E46Fanatics under the ICE section. WTB- Clear Indicator Lenses for Facelift coupe wanted. There is a few members on there that constantly part out cars, maybe they have some.

Wolfn8tr, just a few days on E46F and I've sourced the lenses. Thanks for the suggestion.

Whoa. Spent a better part of today baking my headlights and swapping the indicator lenses. Opening the headlights wasn't too bad, just pulling them out of the car was a PIA though.

#easybake. Nice work.

Nice are you doing Angel Eyes while you have them apart?

No, but I may be the one who's backwards. What's easy for others, is sometimes hard for me. [emoji12]

Word to the wise. If you have headlight washers...Watch out! I almost lost an eye taking those suckers off with a full reservoir coming through. Doh!

Yeah that happens with non-Ms... M3's don't have that problem because the reservoir is lower than the headlights.... gravity does work ;)

You respond by telling her life is short, that's why ;)
