Hi All
Dave from south central PA here. I have a 194k mile 2000 328i and am on the hunt for an e46 330i. The ZHP's I found were more than I was willing to pay for but I stumbled across one last night that I can't pass up. I won't share about the car until I know its mine. :fingerscrossed
Anyhoo - I look forward to hanging out here and learning more. I watched the video so I know how special these cars really are... ;)

Thanks Fredo, I will. Would love to share now but I need to get confirmation from the seller that we have a deal. I'm like a kid the night before Christmas!

Manual, dark silver with black leather guts, one owner, no curb rash on the wheels, dealer maintained, 61k miles!
I am in negotiations with the owner. He got blasted with people interested but I was first. I hope to have it next week.
I need a daily driver and this car is almost too nice for that!

Thanks gentlemen and thanks for the name of the color.
I am a long time e46f and never realized that there seems to be some animosity between the mafia and the fanatics. I found the video funny but now I am starting to recognize it has some political meaning! I don't want to crack that egg here, just sharing. I am sure I can read about it should I choose.
Anyway, y'all seem mighty welcoming and friendly so far. I guess that is the way the mafia works. Then one day I will be asked to "do you a favor". :-)

Thanks gentlemen. I am picking her up on Saturday. Rental car to NC then drive it home. I feel quite lucky. Details since its all but a done deal...
2004 with ZHP and Cold Weather packages
6 speed manual
silver gray with black leather (I prefer over alcantara as I think the leather will hold up longer)
the aforementioned 61k miles
one owner
meticulously maintained (most entries in CarFax are "washed/detailed" at the BMW dealer)
never wrecked, no paint work
fold down rear seat
always garaged
wheels are perfect
all paperwork including original window sticker
needs nothing
$8900
I didn't even make an offer under asking price, he had a list of people after me that wanted it. I was lucky to have been the first!

That is a SMOKIN' deal for the car as described. Like "best deal ever" level of smoke! Can't wait to see the pics.
Stick around over here, those e46f guys - the ones that seem to have a "problem" with the mafiosos anyways - are a strange breed!
Can't wait to see pics. Congratulations!

Thanks for the nice comments. The truth is I was aiming for a nice non-ZHP 330i but then I found this thanks to craigslist Pro.
I am enamored with this car! I have spoken with the owner several times and he is also an enthusiast. I have every confidence the car is as described.
I'll report back when I pick it up. I appreciate all the support.

I agree although it is a an oem knob he got at the dealer in Germany after the alcantara knob went bad. Nice knob just not the right one.

That's the knob that came stock in my E90 sedan I bought back in early '06. Looks partially metal, but it's lightweight plastic. ZHP knob is a MAJOR improvement.

I just ZHP-knobbed my M5 yesterday.. 1000% improvement over the stock 1-piece knob/boot that's so tall, it resembled a black giraffe.. this is the only way to go.

Ok. Home now. Overall thrilled. The seller was very friendly and accommodating.
I looked over the car carefully. No cracked towers. No subframe mount cracks. No evidence of any paintwork.
There was a 1" scratch down to the metal at the right rear wheel well that he pointed out as soon as I arrived. Other than that it was everything he said it was. Window sticker and book of records.
Unfortunately 100 miles into the drive home I got the SES light. I also noticed a pulsing sensation around 2500 rpm when accelerating under load. I was able to repeat this. I am assuming VANOS or maybe a coil. I will plug it in tomorrow.
I am not overly concerned. I can do my own repairs so it shouldn't be too bad.
He had two other guys on him hard. One wanted to make an offer over the asking price. Luckily he is a man of his word.
I'll update tomorrow. 12 hours on the road today...

I guarantee you, if you got the SES light on the way home, he cleared it before you got there and full disclosure, wasn't full. That's what I would be thinking. What is the code?

01-31-2016, 07:31 PM
I didn't pull the code yet - busy day. I contacted him and he seemed concerned.
He is not a DIY guy. He had the dealer do everything - everything. The car has been sitting rather unused for several months. He bought a new Jag and was keeping the ZHP but decided to sell as he just wasn't driving it.
I'll update the mob when I get more info. I might start a thread in the appropriate forum to troubleshoot the issue
