New member from (Upstate) NY - searching for ZHP

Hey everyone, my name is Jon, I'm a new member here to the forum and I'm on the hunt for a ZHP.

I've just recently begun my search, but I stumbled across this forum and it's been a huge resource for educating myself on these cars. I've been on a couple other car forums around the inter-webs and owned a few other cars over the years and I suppose I would consider myself an enthusiast.

My current ride is an '88 e28 535is, although it's parked in the garage for the winter as it needs to undergo some repairs. Unfortunately over thanksgiving I cracked a rocker arm in the valve train, and at 250+ kmi it is in need of a rebuild. So while that project is ongoing I'm looking to get back into a car from the 21st century.

I'm a fan of German engineering, one of my previous cars was a 05 Audi s4 with the v8, which was a blast to drive. Now I'm looking for an e46 and everything about the ZHP package says it's the one for me. Interested in all color packages, coupe or sedan - no verts, must be manual, ok with something with higher miles if well maintained.

That's about it - the search is on!

I was there as a student in 1993, then back there at the prototype as a staff instructor, 1998-2001. Love the area. Used to hang out up in Lake George for a bit, and got to meet the Womens Olympic hockey team up in Lake Placid. Justin still has autographed USA jersey and hockey pucks.

Funny story. At the time, I had two kids playing ice hockey. On a whim, I said, "let's run up to Lake Placid". So when we got there it just so happens, there's some huge regional hockey tournament going on. We decide to attend, and we sit down. I bought Justin a jersey and a couple of pucks on the way in. So as we are sitting there in the stands, there's this girl sitting next to us, by herself. Good looking, athletic build, and wearing ankle socks with the Olympic rings on them. I didn't think much of it, but she then got up, and walked around the rink directly across from us and sat down with a big group of girls. I said Justin, "I bet you anything, that's the USA Womens Hockey Team. Take that jersey over there and get them to autograph it for you". And that's what he did. Me and Mom watched him walk over there and ask, and when he did they grabbed him in a big group hug and hooked him up on signing the jersey and pucks. Pretty awesome experience.
