Are these really worth it over stock or say, the UUC kit? I've read that they are a "mild" improvement compared to the UUC DSSR short shift kit where the throws are significantly reduced.

I already bought a BMWP SS selector rod and a UUC bit to go with it. Thought of picking one of these up for the hell of it

Hopefully we aren't both too late. It was posted 6 hours ago. Seems that any BMW Performance are rare and typically goes fast.

Not that rare...and can still buy them from dealer...

That is a great price on those though!

I have one installed on Sketchi and I like it compared to the stock shifter. It is not a huge change and is mostly between 3rd-4th gear. However what you get is a factory part that fits great and no headaches.

I'm mostly interested because of the price lol plus I love the BMWP knob that I have in my car. I could use a new one for sure. The ssk for $30 more than buying a new knob sounds great to me!

I meant in general BMWP parts i.e. intake & strut bar but I stand corrected for the SSK, =)

Oh I agree for the others, but relatively speaking the shift kit is definitely easier to find. And in this case, a good deal is a good deal regardless. Just if you really want one later they are out there for a little less of a good deal lol

This is a phenomenal kit. I have one installed in my car.

Personally, I had absolutely zero qualms about the stock shifter configuration. It was short enough for me while still offering comfortable, lazy shifting as is my driving style. When I installed this, I wasn't really looking to shorten my throws as much as I wanted to refresh my bushings, but decided to take the plunge anyway. I bought this kit because it is one of the milder kits out there and can happily say that it is PERFECT in my eyes.

I don't like super short throws because it just makes it more tiring the drive the car due to the super tight nature of the gear engagements. I also don't want to wear out my synchros faster by having the gears engage faster (not like it makes that much of a difference), so I like the throws to be a little longer to give the synchros some time to spin up. In reality, the BMW Performance shifter has a perfect throw distance, IMO. It's right in between stock and something super aggressive.

This kit is definitely for those who want an upgrade but don't want 1) the cost of the aggressive kits, and 2) the tiring nature of extremely crisp gear shifts.

If I didn't already buy the ZHP shift knob and BMWP shift boot, I would jump on this deal. ARGH

For the people that just want the rod, ecstuing sells its and calls its the Euro Rod.
Can be bought here https://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E46-330i-M54_3.0L/Drivetrain/Shifter/Short_Shifter/ES47271/

I would also pick up the Shifter Ball Bushing as well. Then you can install everything from the top.

If you want to rebuild the shifter, you have to tackle it from the bottom and that will require dropping the exhaust and driveshaft.

Good find, I was talking to the seller about parting out the rod only.

Does the rod itself create the shorter throw, and can the stock 6MT shift knob be used with it? I like the ///M knob on my car currently.

Also, do you have the shifter ball bushing part number?

Thanks!
