Hey everyone,

Working through a few problems with my ZHP. I have started a maintenance / build thread in the projects section, so there will be additional information there for those interested. I came to this section to post this thread to help identify what could be wrong with my brake booster hose.

First of, is this an OEM hose? Most hoses in the engine bay have no markings and are all black. This hose has markings all over it, and doesn't match any other hose in the car.

Second, why is it flat / collapsed? Is it just the incorrect hose or is the collapsing related to the vacuum leak.

I just replaced my DISA and cleaned my ICV yesterday. Also installed a new lower intake boot and new air filter. Upper intake boot is in good shape. The F connector is ok, and the hoses attached to it look ok.

Main focus here is the BBH. Is it oem? Take a peek at the photos below.

I can take a look at my hose but I believe that is a factory hose that just has collapsed. Plus the clamps that hold it are still original since they are one-time use.

Thanks Vas! Been very helpful. Plans for the weekend might be to replace this section of Vac line plus install a new battery since I need one anyways. I just got a new alternator with voltage regulator, so a new battery would eliminate voltage affecting anything.

Looks the same but less collapsed, thats for sure.

Is it "ok" to drive with a vacuum leak?

Your hose looks worse then the one on sketchi. I was going to replace mine and iirc its $20ish.

As far as a vacuum leak, you can drive it. Just at idle the car is most likely running lean.

So it runs itself too lean, and that is what is causing the stalling? I really want to bring my car this week but don't know if I should put it up to 3 to 4 hours of commute each day :/

Need to do CCV and Vanos seals pretty badly

Yeah. Fix the leaks and issue and then drive it better then having it towed
