I am asking this question because over the weekend I was using the Wayz app for directions somewhere and it now shows your speed on the screen. Well as it turns out the speed it was reporting was about 7-8 mph slower than my speedometer was reporting. Has anyone every experienced this or had a problem with cars in the past? I was driving my VW so its not the zhp but I was hoping others might have some input on this.

I talked to one of my car buddies and he questioned weather the Wayz app was reporting the correct speed.

It's normal. BMWs are all programmed to read higher than they're actually going.
It can be corrected with PA Soft.

7-8 mph seems a little high. Mine's about 4-5 mph when cruising at 75 mph. Are you on stock tire sizes?

And yes, you can reprogram your speedometer if you have BMW Scanner and PA Soft.

Yes he is! He recalibrated the speedometer on my M3 and now it reads exactly what every app I have on my phone reads. I would say going 80 before is now 74, so 6mph off.
