Hello, just purchased a Tiag ZHP from a local craigslist seller who happens to be a member here (Jb3)
Anyway if you haven't the for sale ad,
2003 ZHP
108k
M factory helical diff.
Turner sway bars
Have been in the same car for 4+ years now. A 2001 Jetta 1.8t, originally purchased as a commuter, decided to get a tune and kind of got lost in mods from there.
Decided it was time for a change, grew to hate the turbo spool and characteristic tq curve. I looked at a few e90's a few e82's and the e46 m3 before finding the ZHP.
And here is the purchase

Alcantara wheel needs a cleaning and im planning swapping the shift knob if I can get it off. This thing is on there!
I'll be here for a while I hope!

Lovely choice! If you haven't gotten the shift knob off yet you just have to manhandle it towards the roof. I was surprised that no turning or twisting was needed when replacing mine.

Funny you say that. I've never had a problem removing the shift knob in either of my cars. It always came right off, even if it needed some pressure. I even removed the brand new knob I put on recently and that took some strength but nothing face damaging. I'd say a good trick is to make sure it's in neutral, and pull with both hands (away from your face). This way you can control the amount of force.

Congrats on the new zhp. I live in the Raleigh area as well and I am pretty sure I have seen this car on craigslist for the past few months. We have what appears to be identical cars minus the aftermarket parts you mentioned.
Congrats again! They are a lot of fun to own and drive.

Hey OP!
Like the silver. Congrats and welcome aboard!
I did the 1.8t thing too (AWD). Nice little car with a great motor. This ZHP thing is a whole 'nother world though.

I actually got the shift knob off I opened the sunroof stood awkwardly and used my legs to pull up, I thought for sure I was about to damage the shifter linkage. But it came off.
Mine was an AWD motor as well. Sold it Wed. Night. Probably could have made out better if I parted it. [emoji17]
