Climate Control and Light Dimmer

I noticed something in my car that seems odd to me. When I dim the interior lights (gauges, etc) with the rheostat next to the headthe Climate Control panel lighting does not dim. For instance, where the temperature is showing on panel does not dim with the rheostat. My question, show it dim or not dim?

All of that is supposed to dim... Pretty sure mine does. Never paid attention because I run full brightness at all times.

Yeah I went out to the car right after posting to confirm. Yes, it is supposed to dim.
