My daughter's car. What can I do to remove the red (from a concrete post)?

Clay and/or compound might get that off.

Depending on how deep it is! But it should come off!

Yeah, I thought about abrasives, but was hoping maybe there was a solvent type solution?

One time I scraped my wife's old 1997 Mazda. I asked at a body shop and they used some kind of thinner (likely diluted) to remove the white scrape, the car was black. This process removed the shiny gloss, but the car looked fine from a distance. And it was free. GL.

Well, using the abrasive method allows you to remove it since it works with layers. Remove top layer, then the layer under that, etc. Solvents don't care what's there or what they damage. Compound is designed for use on car paint - you're best off with this method as it's safest. Be sure to polish and seal it when you're done, or at the very least, seal.

That is NOT good...

Jeff, I have compound and an orbital polisher if you want to borrow / try.

Thanks Oli. I tried hand rubbing some compound, without much success. I think she's just going to have to live with it.

You need a machine buff, a body shop should have the compounds and tools. I recently had them buff out something similar on my truck, cost me $20 for lunch.

+1, I did this to my girlfriend's Mazda Protege5 after she scraped it on a pole in her apartment parking lot. The car is already dented like crazy and has peeling clear coat, so I just threw some polishing compound on a friend's orbital and it came right off.
