VIN: WBABD53495PD99515
Year: 2005
Make: BMW
Model: 330ci ZHP
Mileage: 114K miles / 186K km's
Transmission type: 6-speed
Body Type: Coupe
Color: Estoril Blue Metallic
Packages: M Performance, Premium, Cold Weather, Individual
Title status: Clear Title / No Liens
Location: Picton, ON, Canada
Contact: peter AT tenecom DOT com

as most of you know.... i have been fortunate enough to steward this rare car into better condition and health – it is ready to be loved and driven! besides being the only estoril blue ZHP coupe built for North America, it has the premium package, and the rare electric rear window shade (which works very well!) – it is basically loaded with almost every option available. and the only way for it to be estoril blue was for it to be a BMW Individual car (notable by the door sills and paint code sticker) – which, from what i understand, was a $5000 premium. that puts the sticker price on this car at around $69,000CAD in 2005!

this car was garaged most winters of it's life (including the last 7), so the paint is very nice. the car just looks beautiful. it's stunning in person.

i wanted to list this here on the 'mafia first - you guys should have first crack at it! if it doesn't sell here, i will likely auction it off on BaT. that said, i will be happy to work with any prospective US buyers - i live 1.5hrs from the thousand islands, NY border crossing, and have imported/exported vehicles before - it is not a hard process. i'll even pick you up from the airport if necessary. :)

please find the VIN breakdown below, along with maintenance performed and notes on the car. pics below, and all photos here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-2CgZrHbm5yMXNVUGVlYll5UWM

oh... and the asking price: $12,500USD

EDIT: a deposit has been made on the car. it is tentatively sold.

thanks guys!

peter

• Armrest leather has some wear, is acceptable but not perfect
• Front seat outer bolsters have normal wear and tear for the age
• Rear inner tail lights have hairline cracks, but are not leaking – I elected to leave them
• Left rear outer tail light has hairline crack between red and clear sections – not leaking, and as it is the original tail light I elected to leave it. Used replacement tail light included

• Small rust bubbles near door catches on both door sills
• Black cube trim on driver’s door has normal scratches from seat belt buckle

thanks rob! why not make it an even 6 cars? ;)

OMG that car is perfect. What is the deal with importing Canadian cars to the US?

basically the steps go something like this:

1. get letter from BMW Canada, it says something about the recall status - seller does this
2. pickup car in canada, drive to border
3. declare car purchase at border, go inside with forms filled out (i can help find the correct ones), pay any taxes, etc
4. register and enjoy

it's not a hard process - i sold a car to a guy from the states recently (about 4 years ago) and helped him with the paperwork... and i've imported a car from the US to canada... it's very simple.

you might need a US speedo overlay or a full US gauge cluster... depends on your state's rules for that stuff. not a huge deal.

thanks guys. i was kinda hoping the price would be really attractive (too attractive?) to a fellow mafioso, and it would stay in the family. winter is coming and while i do have a place to store it, i'd rather see it sold and enjoyed.

well, i tried to work with BaT on auctioning off the car, and we could not agree on a reserve price. they were only on board with what i considered an extremely low reserve, based on the fact that the two previous ZHPs they auctioned sold for $8500 and $9400. this car clearly stands apart from those cars, which i assumed they would appreciate - but, no such love.

i'm looking into storage options for the winter, however if anyone knows anyone looking, please send them my way. i am negotiable on price. thanks guys. :cheers

What is the rust situation, Peter? You document the small bubbles, but a few undercarriage pics wouldn't hurt if it is normal for a 12 year old car...I know I'm not alone in that as a severe negative in market valuation given location dynamics.

it was maybe $30, and then there is a $125 fee if the reserve is met. that's it.

yeah, i can take some undercarriage pics - i don't have a hoist, so they aren't going to be awesome. but i can definitely try. the car was stored winters since roughly 2008, so it is pretty clean underneath.

the small bubbles are right around the door catches - see pic below. they are tiny. i'm just trying to be up front about stuff.

I think being up front about it is good, showing the undercarriage is clean is very important even if the pics aren't great. Just enough to calm prospective buyers from worrying about it being Canadian lol

LOL. i'd be more afraid of buying a new england car than a canadian car - the roads are way better here and the winters are a little easier (easier than VT/NH anyway).

i totally spaced undercarriage pics. i will try to get some this week.

For me how they drive is just one aspect, how different they are in in terms of the interior and the other features is important too [emoji4]

He's an enthusiast and an absolute lunatic when it comes to exterior care. I pushed hard for him to buy it because he'll be the perfect owner for a car like this. The paint will be pristine as long as it's in his possession.

He's already seen this post, so I'm sure he'll be registering soon.

Yep! I'm supposed to be going up there for work sometime in January, so it only makes sense for us to drive back in the snow.

Those damn seat heaters better work...

ha. they do. :)

it will certainly be a fun trip. google maps says it's just shy of 14hrs... not that bad. did he go with you to buy the imola coupe?

Yep. He baited me into the red car, so I returned the favor for the blue one.

We're in Charlotte and either he'll make a thread or I'll start one and fill it with grammatical errors and he'll have to take it over.

Sweet, I'm moving back to the triad this summer. I have family in Salisbury and Concord so we will definitely have to get together at some point. [emoji1303]

Buyer here. I have joined! And yes, a thread will be created which will undoubtedly document my "absolute lunacy" for exterior care. He didn't give me enough credit though...I'm just as much of a lunatic for interior care, too.

I'm giving serious consideration to moving back to the Triad myself when I'm ready to buy a house, if I can finagle working remotely.

well... the estoril coupe drove away with spenser, it's new owner today... it's sadder than i was expecting. spenser is great! and he will be able to practice his OCD-ness on this car, which is awesome. i'm happy about that. and i'm happy that nathan will be there to goad him on with stuff. :) really, it is in good hands. but it was sad seeing it drive off...

I'm still in denial that you sold it.

But it sounds like Spenser* will be taking good care of it!

*Spenser is Peter's made up internet alter ego that he used to bamboozle not only us, but his wife as well. The Estoril coupe actually sits in a barn not far from Peter's house, ready to be driven when no one is looking and Peter has some alone time.

EDIT: And really I think this is all a ruse so I'll stop pestering Peter about taking poor pics of the thing. It's all a conspiracy!

I bet it was sad.... you put a lot of heart into that car getting it back in perfect shape. I'm happy it's going to an enthusiast instead of some random dude on eBay.

Beautiful ZHP! I need an estoril in my life[emoji2]. I have a quick question... Maybe someone already asked, but I noticed it's got white needles?

You would have formed an emotional bond with the estoril coupe while you were working so hard to bring it back to tip-top shape. It is quite natural to be sad to see it drive away. But we know that it is in good hands and within the mafia family :)

On to your next project!!

The japanrot zhp touring is happening. You can hear the excitement in his voice when he talks about it.

Just let it happen, Peter. Let destiny take its course.
