View Full Version : Sport Round Airbag - Mint w/ dented emblem

Selling a sport round airbag. Purchased as a set together with an M3 steering wheel from another member. Doesn't need the airbag hence up for sale. The rubber cover is in great shape, no visible flaw or oiliness. The matte finish looks factory new. However, the lower left quadrant of the BMW emblem was dented upon arrival. It is hard to tell from a head-on picture (e.g. pic #1), but you can tell it by the reflection when viewing at a lower angle (e.g. pic#4). You will feel it when touching it by hand. The emblem also has some hairline scratches, not very obtrusive though. Maybe good for someone looking to customize steering wheel emblem.

I take it this is not an airbag replaced under recall then?

+1 on the recall - if this isn't a "new" bag, then it is unsafe and has been recalled.

No, I believe it is not the redesigned airbag.

+1 on the recall - if this isn't a "new" bag, then it is unsafe and has been recalled.

I am 99% sure it is not a "new" airbag. BMW just started rolling out the recall and it takes time for the "new" airbag to hit the used part market. And it will be significantly more expensive I guess. I agree everyone under the coverage of the recall should get a new airbag from the dealer. I think this is better suited for a project car that wasn't fitted with a sport steering wheel from the factory, or maybe someone who just wants a spare airbag with a more personalized emblem :dunno.

It's a death trap. Shouldn't be installed in any car.
