The premium on wagons is nothing short of insanity. Just below this thread the same dealer is selling a zhp with a rebuilt/salvage title with 71K for $9.5K, yet this wagon with twice the mileage and transplanted parts with same rebuilt/salvage title is $14K. It boggles the mind.

this car has M3 seats, MTechII rear bumper (super hard to find), and is a vehicle that you could not buy in north america. you gotta pay for unobtanium. ;)

F, chris.... nice work! i love it. good inspiration for my project, which is going to be very similar - right down to the M3 seats and MTechII bumpers! :cheers

Let's not get carried away. None of the parts on this car are hard to find at all. The bumper can be ordered new. It most definitely isn't unobtanium - it can be obtained the same way this car was made, by building it yourself as such.

This is definitely one of the sweetest tourings around though.

With that said, this would be almost the ultimate daily driver for me, personally. The only things that would make it better for my personal tastes are the M57TUD30 engine and an Estoril Blue paint job. :biggrin
I do say that Steel Grey is a very nice color, and have never seen it on a touring before.

Put all the lipstick you want on a pig but it's still a pig. No matter how many parts are bolted on this is still a 15yo 325 with 130k and a salvage title, yet someone is going to potentially pay as much as 14k for it bc it's a wagon?

People say buying from eag is a bad financial decision because of the premium but this is way beyond that

No, they haven't released the 2017 schedule yet. Last year it was in June though, so I expect it around the same time. Congrats on the purchase, if I wouldn't get kicked out of the house for it, I would have probably beaten you to it. My dream daily driver right there.

Good lord... Coming in pretty late here, but my goodness this is the sexiest grocery getter I've ever seen. Only thing it needs is a new lower bumper grill (or just paint it satin black) and to have the silver window trim "shadowed" out. Gorgeous car, congrats to the new owner, let me know if you ever want to sell!!

Thanks mang! probably not willing to sell too soon :) Lower black grill is usually a plasti-dip job and I've been bending over backwards trying to get somebody from the UK or German Ebay to send me OEM gloss shadowline touring trim.

Better off painting that front grille instead of PlastiDip. PD doesn't last too well on front end parts, in my experience...
Or maybe I just drive too much. lol

Ooh good tip. Might be able to get it glossier (but not too glossy!) with the paint so that's not a bad idea. I've PD'd the rear diffuser before and it looked completely OEM and held up pretty well for 4+ years.

I used a product by Rust-Oleum that worked quite well. You can see it here (you have to scroll down a bit, item 3 in the post): http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?15714-William-s-330Ci-ZHP-Maintenance-and-Project-Thread&p=462028#post462028

I used standard satin black spray paint on my lower grill, looks perfect now. I also Plasti dipped my window trim over a year ago, and it's held up pretty good so far. Hell of a masking job, but I think it looks great. There's a little wear on the inside where the door rubber touches it, but you can't see it when the doors are closed, so it doesn't bother me. You may be waiting a while for an actual shadow line touring set, and I bet it won't be cheap. Good luck!

We took a ride around in this thing around Stigissimo's hometown the other day and its amaaaazing. Like, beyond amazing. Gorgeous, super comfy, and every bit a ZHP speed-wise. Honestly, it made me wish they actually made ZHP wagons, it was so roomy on the inside.

Don't worry errybody, I will eventually be making a build thread for this - especially once I can get a couple quality shots of it. Not much is in the works just yet, besides the car now sitting on some style 73s wrapped in blizzaks. I will admit, I've hooned the s-word out of this thing in the snow. Sideways city population: me.

I did however get a quote for shadowline gloss trim blackout from a very reputable body shop. I know from experience that they do great work, but was quoted a bit more than I planned. Good thing I just sold the tranny from my old ZHP to help eat the cost. What're your thoughts?

Full service (I don't need to remove the trim - thank god, done it before it's a PITA and if it breaks it's on them)
Paint: $480 and 2-day job
Vinyl wrap: $350 and 1- day job

I want a pro job (no plasti-dip); my thoughts are: that's an expensive wrap, and if I'm going to spend that I might as well go for a more permanent solution. $500 is a lot of dough for painted trim tho..

Short summary: drives and feels exactly like a ZHP. Luckily, no 4K dip yet like my old Imola had. Tranny shifts like butter. M3 seats are just plain sick. Only thing the car needed was a good wheel balancing (for both the 135s it came on and my own style 73s) and she can now tear up the highway like she is half her age.

As for how she looks, I'll let some iPhone pics do the talking.

the shadowline is going to look awesome - it's the only way, in my opinion. :)

i would go for the wrap, actually - likely more durable than paint. are you having the pillar trim done also?

You think? I thought wraps were only meant to last 7 years or so. In the short term, though, yeah likely much more durable as simply just sunshine can remove scratches.

And yes - everything from the chrome trim to the pillars and mirror bases (so I don't have to go out and buy shadowline mirror housings)

Great point. Because by 7 years out I'll have easily had something happen to the painted trim to scratch it up enough to be annoying.

Here's what the factory shadowline looks line on a touring.

Sold this gem 5.5 years ago, I regret it often but it had to happen at that time. Al who bought it from me sold it after just over a year, I know where she is and check on her regularly. While Al drove about 15K in his year of ownership, the current owner has limited it to 1K per year since, the car is at about 75K miles today, garaged, they have other daily. And yes, should it become available, God willing, it will come back home to me if there's even the slightest way I can justify it.
