Let's write down our initial mileage in 2017. Let's make a guess how many miles you will drive this year and compare with the real number when 2017 is over.
2005 ZHP : 142,460. Guess 2,500 miles
2005 Mini : 146,415. Guess 5,000 miles
2011 X3 : 65,615. Guess 24,000 miles (wife's car, her guess)
2008 Saab : 88,574. Guess 5,000 miles.
I'm also guessing one of the above vehicles will be sold in 2017.
Edit: info added on 04-Feb-2017.

Starting 2017 with 115,198. Sometimes I have the urge for a used 2 Series vert, but I usually lie down and the urge goes away (a paraphrasing of Satchel Page's famous quote). Assuming the urge is not consummated, am projecting 2017 EOY mileage at 120,500.

LOL I did put on about 22k miles in 2016, so I am just going by what I did in 2016...

Wow, the wife must put some real time behind the wheel Fred.
And I hope you can slim down the stable. We were at 5 vehicles last year and I'm down to two! So much easier to keep up with maintenance. Not to mention the money I don't have to shell out to USAA!

2004 ZHP (my baby): 52,054 at time of purchase, 52,720 as we speak after the trip home from NC. Will probably end the year between 56-57K.
2007 Sky RL (my commuter car): Ended 2016 at 106,800, guessing it will end between 114-115K
2012 Grand Cherokee (family car): Ended 2016 at 79,400, expecting to end between 95-96K. This car gets driven a lot considering the wife works from home.

Started at 120,352 miles. Annual mileage is pretty consistent at right around 10k miles. Don't see anything that will change that.

The numbers are final for 2 out of the 3:
2004 ZHP: 55,649 as i pulled into the garage this morning. Done for the year with about 3,600 miles in 2017.
2007 Sky RL: 116,249 as it sits on the driveway. Done for the year with about 9,500 miles in 2017
2012 Grand Cherokee: Approximately 97,300 as of today with a couple more days to go. Probably end in the 97,500-600 range and roughly 18,000 miles this year. Holy crap.
In mid-Jan i'll be getting a 4th car (2003 Pathfinder) so the other 3 cars will get fewer miles in 2018 than this year, particularly the ZHP.
Starting Mileages and Hours!
2003 ZHP, 149,624
2103 Tacoma TRD, 55920
2016 428I, 5,290
2008 SeaRay 185 Sport, 156.3 Hours
I never predicted what the mileage would end up as. That probably a good thing because, I never expected to be commuting 150 miles a day and relocating when this was posted.
2003 ZHP, end 156,520 = 6,896
2013 Tacoma traded @ 75,535 = 19,615
2016 528CIc end 16,506
= 11,216
2008 Searay only out 5 or 6 Times
2018 4Runner will start the year at 4,300 +
2000 Yamaha back running starts at 45,192 with an unknown future

The thoughts have skimmed the surface of my brain about selling the car.........ever since I drove a new TRD Pro 4runner I’ve wanted to upgrade my current truck situation.
I happened to record my mileage Jan 2 2017.
12,834 mi. give or take, which is a lot for me. Enthusiasm.

I just got a 2018 4Runner Off-Road Premium last month. Looking at the Pro, all I see as performance upgrades are the shocks & Tires + a slight lift. Everything else is cosmetic and I’m not running miles of desert at high speeds and that’s the reason for the shock. As for the tires; I had the OEMs swapped for BFG A/T KO2s, before I drove off the lot.
Save some money and get the Off-Road. I did get major money for my 13 Tacoma and had no intention of upgrading. Be careful if you test drive one. You may land up tacking one home like I did.
Good luck!

I already test drove a pro and it ruined my soul lol. As much as I know it’s cosmetic, I love the cosmetics. I ultimately want to find a CPO cement gray one. I think I could sell my 2001 sport with all the ish done to it (the list of new parts and maintenance in the last year is insane, it needs nothing for a long while) for 10k. I think if I removed the BMWP intake/strut bar/CF rear diffuser/BBS CHs I could get 10k for that car as well. Problem is those are the only two cars we have now and we need to have two vehicles.

I fully understand! I’ve had more tricks than cars over the years and never had to many creature comforts till this one. Haven’t been in a SUV for more than 15 years now and this one is working out good so far. Just finished a couple thousand mile road trip from Huntsville AL to the Lake Erie shots over the holiday without an issue. Except 18 MPG.

awesome. cars are meant to be driven! i always seem to rack up a lot of miles.... living out in the sticks will do that, too. we've put almost 8K miles on the X3 since we got it 3 months ago.... and we've got two vehicles!
