I am looking to get some winter wheels and tires and wanted to confirm some specs and make sure I am not missing or forgetting something in my quest.

still have the stock wheels on my ZHP (225/40-18 on front and 255/35-18 on rear), but I want to run 17s non-staggered for winter.

Based on other threads, I this is what I am looking at and would appreciate it if someone who knows more about wheel and tire combos can confirm.

Wheels: 17x7
Bolt pattern : 5x120
Offset: +40
Tires: 225/45-17s all around

Not sure if I should be considering a 17x7.5" wheel instead?

Thanks for any help.

Regards,

David

Assuming you deal with "real weather" you want as narrow a tire as possible to maximize traction. There are a few 16 that fit over 330 brakes, but 17 has more tire selection so stick with that. I'll let people that deal with winter weather on a regular basis give you tire reviews

You're fine with the size you specified.

Thanks all.

Recommendation from another member was to fit 17x8 wheels with an offset of +47 for the tire size I want to use.

Just FYI, don't get 8.5" wheels. The 225's stretch on my rear 8.5" wheels and it annoys the crap out of me.
7.5" wheels are perfect for 225's.
