2008 E92 M3, Alpine White, 6spd, Investment Grade

This listing is not my personal car. Posting for a fellow Everglades Chapter CCA member and good friend as he is not as connected online. I met at his home to review the car and take a few additional photos, mostly up close shots showing the extreme level of detail this car has. There are all of the standard photos as well, but I can promise there is absolutely no photo that can convey the level of perfection in this car.

The owner has been with the CCA for 7 years, however his first BMW was a brand new Inka Orange 1972 2002tii. He has been an enthusiast ever since, and this M3 is his 5th BMW vehicle (all others purchased new as well), in addition to his ’77 BMW R100 motorcycle. He purchased this car on Sept. 14, 2008 from Coggin BMW In Fort Pierce, FL. Car is still seen exclusively at this dealership. He is personal friends with Mike Phillips of Autogeek and spends many hours there assisting with and instructing others on car detailing. His M3 can attest to this level of perfection, and the trophies this car has received will also tell the same story (they’re included with the car).

As you can see from the maintenance and mileage history, the reason for sale is that the owner no longer drives the car anymore. My personal belief is that he doesn’t want to get it dirty. :D He is aging and is no longer able to maintain this level of detail as well as keep up the 2 series daily driver he shares with his wife. In his words, his ultimate reason for sale is recent health concerns, and the fear of his wife having to handle the ownership/sale of the car on her own. Not to mention, she cannot drive stick.

The car currently rests in the garage and gets cleaned as needed. Owner is not driving it as a following detail will be needed. The car comes complete with every sheet of paper from original purchase, all original manuals including the supplemental ///M manual and booklet, OEM sunshade with slipcover, OEM plastic trunk tray, two Key fobs (both with new batteries). The car was also equipped with LoJack upon initial purchase, installed at Coggin BMW.

And yes... I'm particularly OCD about cleaning my car, and I always wipe out the door/trunk/hood jambs... But this one even blew me away with how clean it was, hence that particular pic... [emoji1303]

I have been looking at e90m for some time now, but was curious on your thoughts of the 6mt vs Dct? I know you have dct...I'm leaning towards Mt...as it seems more appealing and I would plan to keep the car long term as an enthusiasts auto to drive and enjoy!

The M5 seller posted this : "The original owner supposedly had his chauffeur drive the car to Carmax to have it evaluated. I’m not kidding. Apparently he is extremely wealthy and didn’t know the true value of this car. A Carmax salesmen then bought the car and sold it to me. I relayed this story to BaT but I now see that it was misunderstood as me buying it directly from Carmax. I will have it corrected."

IMO it comes down to personal preference. There are huge advocates for both transmissions on the M3 forums.

I have an M3 w/ DCT, my cousin has the same car with a 6MT. The manual is obviously more engaging, and really the only choice if you're a 6MT guy through and through. You can certainly drive the DCT quicker IMO. I have the Dinan engine software and DCT tune (so does Joop now!) and it's even better than stock, but even stock it just blasts through the gears. DCT drives a lot like a manual, just doesn't have the 3rd pedal. There is no Park gear, put it in neutral like a manual and pull the e-brake. When you put it in gear (drive or reverse) you gotta give it some gas, it won't start rolling like a true automatic. On a hill, it will roll backwards just like a manual. I wouldn't trade my DCT for a manual, but that's just me.

As always, drive both and decide which one you like better :thumbsup

I beg to differ. The car has cosmetic and mechanical blemishes. I understand the age is much greater, but it needs quite a bit of cleanup work. Yes, its still investment grade, but to say the M3 I sold is not is definitely not a correct statement.

This would have been my exact response... The only other thing I would point out is that if you're in some sort of situation, you can drive the DCT car like a true automatic. This is beneficial, as my wife cannot drive manual...
