Hi, Jeff. I missed the post about you moving to Austin. This beauty is local to me, I can help if an interested buyer wants an impartial opinion. GLWS !

What is your VIN?

Yeah, I don't think I announced anything. I grew up in Austin and moved back a little over a year ago to be closer to family. I'm happy to meet up if you want to check out the car!

That's funny, I thought they all had rear side airbags. After a quick search I see that they were optional. My dad had a 2000 323 that he bought new and it had rear side airbags too.

I added the VIN to the original post.

Im back to ZHP-M after having sold my ZHP for an E46 M3, then selling my M before moving to CO. Now I am living in Kyle TX, 20 minutes south of Austin and looking at the ZHP market again lol. I have your CL listing bookmarked and have been eyeing it. Gorgeous car and color combo, sounds like you have really taken good care of her. I will be in the market in the next two or three months I hope. I have to get rid of my wife's Volvo XC90 before I can make any moves. While I hope you still have it for sale, I also wish you the best in getting this into an enthusiasts hands.

Welcome "back"! If you don't mind my asking, why the shift back to a ZHP after the M3? I feel like once many people make that jump, it's rare to go back.

I love the E46 platform and love both cars for different reasons. The ZHP was a nicer cruising car to me. I love the way a properly set up sedan looks as well.
When I had the M, I was on constant patrol for any signs that could be rod bearing, sub-frame cracking etc.
Side by side performance isn't really THAT far off. Sure the S54 screams in the higher revs, but the M54 is no slouch either.
For the money, you can find a cherry ZHP such as this Imola, or a pretty worn in M, probably SMG.

I'd rather find a loved ZHP for 10 than a clapped out M for 10 that is just waiting to hit my wallet.

I can appreciate that. I bought an e92 M3 recently (why I'm selling the ZHP) and I've been enjoying driving the two back to back. While the M3 is great in a lot of ways... it's very dramatic and visceral when you want it to be... you get kind of used to it after a while. At the end of the day, the ZHP is one of the finest and most balanced daily drivers ever made.

I will add, if a buyer is serious, I don't mind taking the car in for a PPI on my dime. There are several BMW specialists near my neighborhood.

Update, I'm willing to sell the limited slip differential and cold air intake separately because I have the OE parts. If parts sell then I'll update the original posting as appropriate.
