The rain sensor is completely independent of the mirror. This can go on either rain sensor or non-rain sensor cars. Coupes have the same mirrors, this is one is universal for all E46's.

You may have to do a quick wiring mod to get this to work in your car though, depending on whether your car already has autodim or not.

My car doesn't have auto dim but it does have the flashing clown nose, and it is prewired for homelink which I've added recently.

I had to add a switch power source (tapped into homelink) for my 05 without premium package other than that. Works fine...I'll throw in a power wire with pin in the box
