Hi all…… i am looking to purchase a BMW Performance strut bar for a friend. He does not have an account here so i said i would make a post for him. He has been asking me for a few months now if i would sell mine and im just not ready to do that yet. So if anyone is willing to sell theirs… please shoot me a pm with your price and maybe we can work something out. Thank You

I sold mine a few months back. It might be helpful to know his ballpark price range. GL finding one for him.

And to think I bought one for $400 just over a year ago and sold it for $400. Had one on my ZHP I bought for $600 and sold it for $600. In my opinion these are not worth $1000 +. If they were solid carbon fiber yes but they are hollow and some members had theirs crack in half.

To this day I'm still mad about it! It was a lot of money...

I have to agree with Gary here and I have one.

However with that said, these strut bars will sell for whatever amount a person is willing to pay for them. Good luck finding yours [emoji1417]

Truth! As a 2002 owner for the past 38 years, I've found it is gets progressively harder to find period-issued accessory parts for any models after production of that chassis has ceased. Get 'em while you can! I missed the big E39 wheel blow-out ($139 each for 2-piece Style 42s - didn't have an E39 yet) as well as the BMW Performance stuff as it wasn't warranted for the '00 328i.

I spoke to him. Infortunatly he is waaay outa range for what my buddy will pay. His limit is $1000 and it has to be in good to great condition. Dude wants $1500 and he is in austraila. Plus its damaged on drivers side strut tower. I wont let my boy buy that at that price with that damage. I consider that pretty bad damage wise.

Seriously tho… thank you for letting me know.

Ahh I should have checked here first. Just sent him a pm but that’s out of my range currently.

I took a look at that strut bar and posted in his thread that he should realistically price that strut bar based on the actual condition it is. I also said I wouldn't pay the $1500 he wanted for that strut bar in the condition it is... in my opinion even if that strut bar was in perfect shape/condition, $1500 is asking way too much for what it is worth but a person is going to try to get as much as they can for this unique part which is why I will be hanging on to the one I have...

Yes, I have Botond's cracked BMW Performance strut bar in my garage. This is part of the reason I went with a DINAN strut bar for my ZHP. Since I daily my ZHP it is subjected to more abuse than my M3 is so I sold my strut bar to a good friend of mine and installed the DINAN strut bar. The thought of this part failing like it did for Botond never came across my mind... for what you have to pay for this part you wouldn't think it would fail like this.....

I made him an offer of $600 shipped. If he takes it good… if not i think hes going to be holding it a very long time at $1500

We all know how cool the BMW Performance stuff is. I, unfortunately, missed the dealer blow-out of these parts. Others that want them will have to be willing to pay based on the market. Happy hunting!

I have had three of these at one time... each I paid $600 for and all three were in perfect condition with no nicks, gouges or scratches on them...I now have one and it is mounted on my M3...

These bars are hollow inside which in my opinion should be solid to prevent this.

I do believe this is BP's.

I saw this one on eBay last year.m and it's cracked in the same exact place as BP's.

I agree. These bars being hallow is definitely a design flaw but when they crack, is it a problem with the bar or is there something else wrong allowing for too much chassis flex?

Anything can be fixed, but that OE quality is gone and I doubt it would look the same

Apologies for posting such a high price. I'll be honest finding a price guide for it has been difficult so I decided on $1500 due to hearsay from two friends who have seen them go either on M3forum or on one of the FB groups. In saying that, it's no longer for sale now, as the cromoly bar I inspected made to dixis style just wasn't up to par for my standards. I'll just sit on the bar until the eventuality of a Dixis bar comes up and then I'll decide. Cheers.

I paid $1300 for mine plus shipping. No shame here. Most members on here paid $600 when they were new and on closeout from places like ecs. That's great for them and they got a smoking deal.

Its 2017 now and period correct oem accessories are not getting cheaper or easier to find.

I have a beautiful cf oem bar and I don't care one bit if any one rolls their eyes that I spent more than they think I should have.

Cheers mate. I appreciate it. I don't want to let it go now either, but there's always the exception of the dixis brace. I might just have to learn how to weld titanium.
