I think I know the answer on this one, but I thought I better ask. Are the tie rods on our ZHP's the standard E46 3-series tie rods? Nothing special about ZHP tie rods, correct?

Thanks!

Yep, no alternate part number listed for vehicles with performance package/opyion no. xxx

I think either Spenser @704sw or Nick @nsk040 has a set of good, used tie rods that they replaced while chasing an unrelated issue. They're both Charlotte peeps.

Mine were toast. Floppy ball joint on one, and irritating reddish Canadian artifacts on both. I told GMP to pitch’em.

Ok I think Nick still has the good set then.

@SaltyNC let me know if you want me to check with him on the tie rods. He's not real active on the forum so he probably won't see this.

I really appreciate the offer, but now I have to ask why do do many have nearly new tie rods? Are you swapping in a tie rod from another car like an M3 or Z4? If that's the preferred path, I'll probably do that as well.

Thank you for the offer. I'll let you know soon, but probably will upgrade the tie rods if that is what you guys are doing.

Don't forget to replace the INNER tie rod, not just the outer.

my Touring had a new set installed before i bought it (11/2016), and i had a new set of lemförder's sitting on the shelf for the ZHP, so when i did the drivetrain swap into the Touring i just put the new lemförders on the ZHP rack. the 1-year old units are still attached to the Touring's stock rack. ;)

Definitely. I was going to replace it all including new boots. Thanks.
