going with 17s?

I’ve been debating this with myself for quite some time. I’ve decided 18s.

Convince me otherwise [emoji4]

well, the group buy is for 17s, that's why i asked. ;)

i love the 18s on my Touring. thinking of maybe going to a staggered setup though - 265/35/18's on the back.

Oh. That’s what I get for not reading carefully.

Looks like 18s for sure then. I’ll be doing square 245 on 9 inchers

245/35/18 or 245/40/18?

i will have a set of 8/32" 245/35/18 michelin PSS for sale soon. going to 235/40/18 square, or 235/40/18 front and 265/35/18 rear.

17's are just so juicy man and the tires are cheaper than 18's

Also group buy man - I know they have them for 18's too, but do you really want to wait around for 18's and spend more money or get some juicy 17's right now?

lol I love the juicyness with which you describe 17's

throw in better fuel economy, lower weight, better accel/braking

18's have better looks and steering response tho

and dem looks

I have a set of 18's (anthracite) and 17's (satin black), and I love them... wish I could buy another set.

I would be interested in a set of 245/35 PSS's. I run 245/40 and am interested in why you'd swap.

There's a group buy for the 1 and 2 series (18 inch APEX and EC-7s), but you can't do a square set-up unless it's ET45. Oh well

3 days left before the thing closes. 17's are great for track days too, lighter weight and cheaper tires.

I drove a car with 17" PSS and honestly I thought the steering response was spot on compared to my 18" style 135's with PSS.

I also signed up for 17's for my daily. I want to get a bit more comfort with a thicker tire and run a square set up, so I can extend a life of tires.

Those are exactly the same reasons I went with 17” apex arc 8 as well. Glad I made the switch.

Good to hear. How do you like them?
Any difference in steering feel?

I can't speak for San, but my impressions of the 17" Apex Arc8 can be read if you scroll down a bit in my first post:

less weight will help with that, too. :) weights being equal, the 18" should be crisper due to the shorter sidewall.

I like the 17”. The ride didn’t improve as much as I thought it would but that’s mostly due to the fact that previously I had style 135s with continental dws 06 tires which have relatively softer sidewall than the Michelin pss that I have currently on my apex 17”. If I had the same tires the ride would be even better.
Steering is much lighter in a good way. Meaning I don’t have to put as much effort to turn the wheels especially at low speeds.
