Folks,

I've found a few online references to the locking plate in question, but neither the internet nor Bentley's says anything about how to properly install the "securing plate" (per RealOEM, item 7)--BMW part number 23211490120. I'm in the process of installing my new LSD and the damned thing just fell out. I would've just popped it in and marched on, but I have two other diffs on the shelf, and said locking plates are both securely fixed around the input flange nut. Am I supposed to stake this plate (washer) or Loctite it somehow? Experienced guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Found this on m5board.com:

"Push the new locking plate in,use the 32mm socket and the mallet to force it in."

Gonna go try it now...

Worked like a charm, only I had to use a 31mm socket.

I did confirm that my rebuilt pumpkin should NOT have come like that.
