So, somehow i ended up getting an extra set of fronts as well. I have no idea how this happened but it must be a breakdown in communication between Turner and APEX. So I have a full extra set now. Here's my "public" for sale ad. I am listing these for $1100 publicly but will list them for family at $1000. Prefer not to ship unless buyer wants to cover shipping. Located in Houston, TX.

I have a brand new staggered set of Apex ARC-8 wheels in hyper silver finish. Never installed, they are literally brand new. These will fit a number of BMW models. The hyper silver finish looks AWESOME against a dark car but honestly looks great no matter what.

Specs:
18 x 8.5 ET38 (ideal fronts)
18 x 9.5 ET35 (ideal rears, deep concave profile)

Again these are BRAND NEW! They retail for around $1200, plus shipping. I am listing at a discount comparatively. Local pickup only, not wanting to ship at this time.

...or if apex made a concave 18x9.5 ET45 ARC-8...

wes wouldn't be selling them. ;)

Good luck with the sale.

If all 4 of them had the same face style, I would have gotten them. But the front being flat and the rear being concave is something I don't like.

It's physically impossible to make the wheel concave with that high an offset... the "spokes" would have to come out past the barrel then curve back in... it would be ugly.

i know, because of the spoke design and how it meets the hub of the wheel.

because of this... and because i'm a sucker for concavity... i've been entertaining the apex EC-7 (they make an 18x9.5 ET43 with 'concavity profile 2' - aka, it looks reeeeal nice), and also the sportline 8S (18x9.5 ET45).

sorry, wes, for filling up your thread!!

18x9 et31 and 18x9.5 et43 Apex EC7.

18X9 ET31 would be too aggressive compared to the rears... 18x8.5 ET35 would be perfect. :)

If I liked you guys more I would put my car on the lift, jack up the wife's wagon behind it, and swap one of my 18x9.5et35 rears over to take pics

too bad

edit: nvm I forgot Abe did it here with the same wheel/tire http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?19220-Zhpe30abe-s-Project-Thread/page7

But they would be matching in concavity.Otherwise the 18x8.5 would be profile 1 while the rears profile 2.

thanks, nate. i checked that out... unfortunately, i don't want to run 235's, and he had to cut the rear fenders to make them fit - and they still rubbed occasionally. yikes. i'm happy to roll a little bit, but i don't want to cut.

A good fender roll would do it

Zach was able to fit the 9.5's in the front and back of his old Imola sedan. see this thread:

I would love to do what Nextel is doing, but I have no intention of getting into body modification with this car. Maybe that route with a non-ZHP and the 5.3 ls I have sitting on my engine stand someday when my back finally heals.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but that would have to be a hell of a roll in the back to make these work.

yes, it would... and some negative camber

Hi Webster,

Will your Apex Wheels fit an 2002 BMW touring / Wagon?
Do you know the weight of staggered wheels?

Thank you

they're roughly 18.5lbs each.

the fronts will fit fine.

the rears... you'll need to do some rolling/cutting/pulling of the fenders to make them fit.

before i did the fender conversion. I had 18x10 et27 in the rear with 245/35/18 and tucking some of the top tire. i could have raised it back up and ran a 255/35 if i wanted. I was running negative camber somewhere in the realm of more than -2... probably closer to -2.5.

i used an eastwood fender roller to roll the inside fender lips flat then used the phone book method to pull the fenders more. there were no waves or ripples with it and it looked fine.

Your IR is brilliant! It was great before, but with the M3 bodywork it is just pure sexy.

Consider the stock setup uses 255 tires on an 8.5" rim.
