It looks to be in decent shape with respectable maintenance and mods. No reserve, so could be a great deal for someone if the price doesn't go off the rails, but I don't think there's too much worry of that: no Cold Weather or Premium Packages, 2003, and a lot of people are turned off by the alcantara/cloth interior.

That would be interesting to watch since it's not that crazy last sale, where car went for 26k or something preposterous is that.

Already up to $8k, no reserve.

Saw that yesterday. I like seeing all the positive comments people on BaT write about the ZHPs they once owned. I made sure to promote the mafia.

... a lot of people are turned off by the alcantara/cloth interior.

I remember the first time I saw a ZHP in person. At the time, I didn't know anything about them. The car had alcantara seats. I thought "this must be a special car."

PPI results posted. Rear pads are at 6 mm. Guibo showing some minor cracks. Besides that, it's a solid car. Now at $10k.

27 mins to go at 10,250. Curious to see if there will be any last second bids.

At $12k now.

Edit: wait a sec. It shows $11k now. I'm positive it was at 12 a couple minutes ago. :scratchinghead

That's a very impressive price for that car. I was expecting $11k tops.

Buyer said he spent a little more than planned. However the car is local to him and he's happy with the deal.

Before the last minute bidding war between two buyers, the price was already at $12K. Impressive sale.

Cost of sale was what the zhp market was 5-6 years ago.

I know. I’d never get rid of it unless something unexpected happened and had to [emoji846]

When i got a 3rd car (suv) earlier this year it was the convertible that got sold and when i get another 3rd vehicle down the road (thinking wrangler as kids get a little older) it’ll be the suv that goes at that time.

The only reason it sold for so much is probably because of that bidding war. When was the last time you walked away from an auction you really wanted to win if it started exceed your ideal budget? "Just a little bit more" --- lol

If it was listed at that price as a Buy It Now, it probably wouldn't have gone for that price. The cars listed at that price tend to stick around a while before the price eventually gets lowered.

The buyer posted this:

Well, I went a bit past where I planned, but the car is local to me and I don’t have to mess around with flying and shipping and all that.

Figured if s/he bought it for less then they would have ended up at that price anyway with shipping. But the car's price itself would've been lower.

Nothing wrong with paying a little more for convenience.

Especially if it's cheaper to do so... when you factor in shipping, that throws a wrench into things.

Personally I'd just fly out and drive it back. lol

The wife liked our trip to NC to pick up our zhp so much that she wants to do it again. A jeep dealership in VA does a great group buy discount (something like 5% below invoice) that we’ll probably do that at the time.

Totally. I had to drive about 3 hours to philly. Not horrible by any means. I told myself I’d be ok traveling the northeast for a car.

Originally I wanted Webster’s OG from Texas, but the guy didn’t want to budge on the price and when I had to factor in shipping it would have blown my budget.

I could have driven it back but given all the trouble he had with it, I might not have made it back lol.

I flew to Denver for mine with 2 friends. Great road trip back to Boston.
