2018 BMW 340i ZHP Package

Hey guys,

Wanted to make you guys aware of a limited edition ZHP package to the f30. Very similar to what BMW did in 2016 with the 435i, they will be making 100 of them. I picked one up this weekend from United BMW in Alpharetta, GA (AWESOME DEALER by the way). Here are the specs:

Alpine White w/ Dakota Red Interior
M Sport LSD
MPPSK Package
Carbon Fiber Spoiler & Mirror Caps
Rear Diffuser

I'm not seeing any information about this at all anywhere online... Where is this information? The ZHP package was only on 2016 435's, so I'm a bit confused.

You will literally not find any information on this ANYWHERE!! I ran into this car completely by accident. The dealer actually ordered this car with the ZHP Package (which is a port installed option), put it up for sale and I jumped on it. Here is my window sticker:

As far as I know, that's all my car has. No one knows exactly what the package includes...on my build sheet it only says ZHP. Crazy! I'm pretty happy with the list though...the MPPSK and the LSD are sweet! The car is 6MT which makes for some spirited driving...

I'm curious if that Monroney sticker matches a VIN readout. Where did you see it has an LSD? Is that what the dealer told you?
I don't think an LSD is available on the F30 generation from the factory, so I'm really intrigued!

Yeah the dealer told me, but I wanted to confirm it. So I put the car on a lift and confirmed it for myself. The build sheet which I got from the BMW Service Department doesn't say anything beyond ZHP Package. The car is truly a freak of nature man. The cool thing is that I think I'm the first guy in the US with one. I've been posting and asking on other Forums, checking on instagram...NOTHING!!

Pretty crazy right?!?!?! A very good friend of mine here in Charlotte, NC has an e46 ZHP, and that's his baby. When he found out that I got this F30 with the ZHP he was freaking out....

The second link is for the 2016 435i model. The ones in the first link are the 2018 model and it doesn't seem like there's any news about them except that thread.

For that money (msrp) I’d rather get an M3 although in reality the discounts on a Non M 3er would be substantially more than M3 especially since g20 will start to sell in a few months time...

I'm psyched with it. Dealer willing to deal as if it was a normal 340i except even more amenable to compromise as it was the only MT on site and new G platform on the way. Left them in a bit of a blind spot when it came to the ZHP package (I'm most thrilled with the LSD and the black front grill!). Show us your M2.

I'm curious to know, does your car have rev matching? The M2 does and it doesn't work so well with a manual...

Rev matching is included. I’m still breaking in car so haven’t been stressing it yet. Actually kind of threw me off the first few times - I was more aggressive than I thought I guess (used to my previous Audi MT which didn’t have it) and until I realized this car does, I was confused (not a new state of mind for me.
What issues are you having ? - in plain language please ( looking at your beautiful car I believe you are far more advanced than myself).

If you go to the last couple of pages in the project thread I linked above, I explain it in detail... In a nutshell, it's inconsistent and if you make a mistake, it will let you know in an awful way. Also we don't like the way it revs the car when letting out the clutch from a stop... I already know how to do that :)

I, like you, like to downshift into stop signs or lights when local driving. Only avoid embarrassment of that rev if down around 1200 rpm - can’t do it. Too many years of not doing it. Like to find my own way not have my decisions ‘safely’ made for me (or at least let me disable the decision maker)

Haven’t had the rev when starting in first that I think you described. Again - not as advanced as you guys.

I can probably work around these issues as I’m using my car as a daily with benefits. I’m still excited to have found this ZHP package but agree the throws are longer than I wish. Obviously not the car for you guys but I’m learning a ton with following your journey and am enjoying it immensely. You guys should go drive through Francis Marion National Forest the back way to Kingstree (41) and lose the Charleston traffic for a while. Watch the deer!

According to the inflation calculator I used, a typical ZHP price in 2005 ($43,000) perfectly aligns with today's $55,000 price.

The difference is, now you get soooooo much more for your money.
