I couldn’t figure out what the goo was under my car in the garage. Got it up in the air and discovered the it was coming from the transmission bushings! Not only that but the bushings were completely shot.. compressed to half their original size. WTF?
I replaced them and now I have a bad vibration. Probably because I rebuilt the drive shaft and put it back in before I discovered the bad trans bushings. I think the drive train is out of alignment now. Not too happy about this.

Here’s a pic of the goo. The viscosity is like paste and it damn near impossible to get it off the concrete floor

Granted these bushings probably have about 80k on them but the OEM bushings didn’t do this. Replaced with M3 bushings.

That sucks. I thought the UUC was solid rubber just like the M3 units.

I had a set of them back in the day but the vibration from them was too much.

Wow ive heard negative reviews from then so I never pulled the trigger, considering I almost ordered a full set of polys from them at the end of October but decided not too in the end

Hopefully you can get this resolved by them or something, despite years and mileage this completely turned me off to doing them

Man glad I saw this, I was considering some but never pulled the trigger (plus doesn’t everyone have a moral gripe with UUC?)

That stuff looks like uncured JB Weld!

I've got a pair of the UUC black mounts. They're ok, I like them so far but I have so many other driveline issues to take care of that I haven't been driving too hard.

Didn't they update the design recently?

Yeah a good amount of people do.

Customer service is not that great.

I don't think they're supposed to be fluid filled. That might be uncured material.

Vibration was bad from the UUC bushings or M3 bushings?

UUC Black. I removed them and went with E46 M3 rubber.

Probably the best drivetrain upgrade I have done is the E46 Engine and trans mounts. Factory OE like upgrade.

Reminds me I STILL need to swap in my M3 engine mounts. I didn't notice a lick of difference with my M3 trans mounts though.

I did both items at once.

Wow... with how much vibration these things transmit, you’d think they were solid....

I just cut them apart. They’re not fluid filled. It looks like the rubber deteriorated into liquid? What’s left of the interior rubber is like semi hardened rubber cement. Never seen rubber break down this bad.

Thanks Vas! The car will be in hibernation the next 4 months or so. I’ll bug you during spring [emoji6]

The one in the worst shape was next to the exhaust

Really? I don't notice that much vibration. What engine mounts were you running?

The one in the worst shape was next to the exhaustWonder if the heat has something to do with them breaking down.

I’m sure it does. Who knows where they source the production ... probably the wrong rubber for high heat areas
