View Full Version : Can I back out coupe headlight assy for polishing?
I want to polish my 2006 coupe headlights, but don't want to affect the surrounding components. It isn't easy to slide the headlight assemblies forward an inch or two, amirite??

Check this youtube video. The guy uses 3M masking tape, just make sure to use plenty (3 or more layers). BTW, the silver e90 used to be my car.

Gotcha- thank you! And anyone who says "whether it's cordless or battery-powered, it really doesn't matter" gets my vote!
Thanks.
What was that filmy stuff on the headlights? Had you applied some kind of protectant varnish?

I didn't apply anything on those headlights. It was oxidation due to the elements.

If you're referring to the E46, you don't need to restore them. Yours are replaceable; just buy new ones.

+1. Replace the seals at the same time.
