View Full Version : What glue should I use?

The back of the seat cards (not sure that is what we call them), are coming off!

I tried 2-part epoxy (gorilla) and that failed in 2 days. I then tried again but this time, after first scratching the surface of the black pads that are no longer glued to the orange fibrous material. That failed in 2 days.

Any ideas from the members that have lost the back of their front seats?

Thanks

Highly recommend E6000, you can buy a 2-4 oz tube for like 5$ at any local homedepot.

I used it to reattach my Cubed trim that had come undone from its plastic base. It really is a fancy aluminum trim, I had no idea lol

When the edge of the vinyl on my seat card shrunk & came loose I re-glued it with DAP Weldwood Gel Formula Contact Cement. The original formula works well, too, but gel is thicker. Be sure to let it dry for the advised time on both surfaces before pressing them together.

Sorry to have to report but the e6000 did not stick! Waited 36 hours before removing the hold on it and it let go in the heat.
I will try this again when the weather is not so hot maybe?
