Anyone going to the 50th BMWCCA Oktoberfest in Greenville, SC? I'm headed down on Friday and Saturday and would love to meet up and head down. Any long distance travelers from the north are welcome to pit at my house for the night and head down in the morning. Look like it will be fun.

So a little disappointed in the registration for the BMWCCA Oktoberfest. First you need to be a BMWCCA member to register. Minimum cost $48 for 1 year. Then you need to cough up the full $55 for the Oktoberfest registration even for one day. So $103 seems a bit steep for me to have a look around so it looks like I will not be going. :(

It is a BMW CCA event, so shouldn't be a surprise. You could still go & hang around some of the events without having to register. I've been a member for >35 years & attended last year's event in Pittsburgh (for the 2002's anniversary). I didn't take part in any of the overpriced (in my mind) luncheons, dinners, etc.

Is it possible to just go the the Spartanburg plant campus to see the cars and people or do you mean some of the events in downtown Greenville?

Yes! There are tons of cars at the hotel downtown and parked on the street. I did the autocross today and people were spectating it. Tomorrow is going to be huge at the performance center

Thank you John, I took your advise and went down for today's event at the BMW Performance Center. Drove the X5 right in like a boss!

Had a good time down there today. Got a chance to see my friend Bill Auberlen and congratulate him for last weeks win at Petit le Mans. That was Bill's 60th IMSA win tying Scott Pruett.

I think the highlight of my day was watching the Isetta race to start off the event. :respect

I'm glad it worked out for you. I spent 3 days at O'fest in Pittsburgh last year & was overloaded - don't know how folks spend an entire week!
