It really is impressive what low(ish) mileage examples are going for. And there's a pretty significant gap in price in the sub 70k and the 100k+, which seems silly.

The market is all over the place for these cars. I think why this one brought so much was the color. I seriously struggle keeping my 06 convertible as I drive it less than 500 miles a year and pay over 800 for insurance - so I drove it 2K in 5 years and paid 4K to keep it insured

I know some insurance companies (Allstate) offer plans that charge by the mile. Maybe something you can look into.

Fredo - thanks for the info - I have AAA and the best they could do was limited use but with full coverage it is $800 - sad part is I pay less for my 2016 Lexus RX350 (daily driver)

Ask about collector car coverage - many regular insurance companies have it, vs. going to Hagerty, Grundy, American Collectors, etc. I pay less than $800 for three "collector" cars with American Collectors - '74 2002tii (agreed value $50k), '86 535i & '06 ZHP.

it might depend on coverage, where you live, as well as age and driver history, but mine is billed as $612 annually with MetLife. And since I store it November to April and drop the collision during that time, it's far less out of pocket:
