noting that the engine was replaced with a base 330i and:

the selling dealer states that they transferred the ZHP camshafts, performed a DME and ECU software update from Contra Costa Auto Service of Concord, California

Interested to see if this really makes it a complete ZHP or turns a few folks away......

I think 7-9k is about right depending on maintenance and condition. But overall they seem to be going up

What do people think about the engine replacement and the lack of maintenance/service history?

At 118k this is long past a garage queen, so I see the engine swap as big plus if you are going to daily it. Especially because all the engine related items have been addressed.

It is nice to see them going up though. IIRC Sketchi was around $11k with 116k in 2014

Myself and 2 other friends bought zhps in the space of 3 months back in 2014
04 120k for $12k
05 85k for $13k
06 95k for $14k

The 05 was sold 2 years ago for $8.5k with 122k miles. Assuming this sells for about the same process I’d say its is in the ball park. I don’t think the prices of 100k plus mile zhps have gone up but the fact that they stayed about the same is nice to see.

I am one of the final bidder and personally have no problem to bid $15K, but I already have 3 cars in the house that we barely drive, and still want to keep my marriage :)

I think even at $14K, it is a great deal because there will be very minimum maintenance for the next several years. Only risk is the unknown condition of the donor engine, but I feel the risk is relatively low.

Well, until next time.
