ZHP Fam!

I'm planning necessary changes to my 04 ZHP to do some tracking with CCA in the PNW in 2021. Need some extra seat time, my race ride is in SoCal.

Anything that is 100% recommended? I'm gonna snag a square 17 setup as a secondary set of wheels and tires, but curious to what else is a good call to upgrade or strengthen.

Thanks and Happy New Year all!

RACP reinforcement and oil pump (nut) upgrade are a must for tracking.

A proper RACP reinforcement if you're going to be tracking a lot (so not just plates but also a solution that adds an additional loadpath from the subframe hardpoints to the chassis rail), proper brake pads, and decent fluid (like any car you would be tracking)

Agree on a topside RACP solution and will also throw in an oil pan baffle and M3 fuel tank baffle to avoid starvation.

Any recommendations on RACP solutions and the baffles? Or will just any do? I'm thinking this might just be for a few HPDEs/Car Control Clinics a year. Thanks for the post!

Rad. Thanks! Open to recommendations on the products you've had good luck with too.

Before diving too deeply into mods that may be needed for extended and frequent track use, you might consider doing the basics for safety and maintenance first. Make sure everything is up to standard mechanically in your car before spending on new parts.

It's also not bad to learn how the stock tires and brake pads perform on track. If you're a beginner, they'll suit you just fine and help you learn limits. If you're experienced, then yea, brake pads and tires are a good place to start after all maint items are up to date.

And as was said, brake fluid flush is a must.

Enjoy!
