Engine stands are usually $25-$40 used
On the hoist, make sure you want to own one...You will if you plan to do a couple of vehicles.. You can buy used and then resell it when done, but that may take a while (or it may not)...If you do buy one used, make sure it isn't leaking and I would try to lift some weight with it to make sure seals are broken.
