Unfortunately, the buyer was not an ZHP enthusiast. Instead of keeping the gem, he/she/it relisted @ $14K.

^ ugh man that's annoying. I've been running into the same with rather noticeable intentions of listing on CB/BaT after sale and bringing up to ideal condition - even amongst the "bmw enthusiast" community. Though if seller is happy with sale, that's all it matters - many cases not holding on for higher price can be the right decision so congrats @Random_ZHP

Frustrating, but sounds about right. People are looking for easy money wherever they can right now

Look at it this way, maybe the guy needs money. Rather him buy and sell cars then rob a bank.

I’ve sold plenty of ZHPs, but you rarely make money when you start getting OCD like me and replacing everything. I do it as more of a hobby.
I’m sure this car was $7k for a reason and most likely needed a few things to make it worth $14k, so most potential buyers will see that. If it doesn’t, then it was extremely underpriced and good for him.

FWIW - I was 2nd in line of many and was on the phone with him 27 minutes after he had listed the car. I told him that I wanted the car sight unseen, but he had already committed to guy #1. Aside, he had the car for something to do during COVID, putting on <10K miles in 2 + years. The car is certainly a find, within my only concern being the repaint. Some paint jobs to us particular enthusiasts are only another future fix. Regardless, I would not pay $14K for it.

A similar one sold in C&B in September 2021 for $11,500: 2003 ZHP sedan / IR on alcantara / 127k miles / MT / fresh paint job

BTW, reading at the comments on above link the same car was posted on TRED as scam for $5,500. Hopefully nobody fell into the trap.
