I've got a client in my shop with a convertible and I am trying to get it setup to close the top remotely from the fob.

I've coded it to close with the fob and when I push the button the top extends out of the storage compartment and then stops when it gets to the point where the tonneau cover should lower. Putting the key in the door and turning to lock gets everything closed up as it should be. The top only stops mid operation when closing with the fob.

Has anyone seen this before?

Mine is an e93 which may not help, but I know that when I do use the FOB to open or close the top, I have to keep the button pressed on the FOB during the whole time the top is in movement. If I let go of the the knob it stops.

Is there a timeout on your FOB?

Hoping the solution is simple and agree with Oli77. Same on my E93 M3

I don't think so as I had gotten it to fully close... but then the windows wouldn't roll up, lol.

It WILL fully open as is as well.

Try holding the key up to your chin to strengthen the signal while holding the button. I wonder if it's cutting out because the battery's weak.
