Good morning to all..

Brian here.. from Santa Monica Autoworks. We are a mechanical repair facility that services late model German automobiles.

I've always loved E46's (and E39's too) I've recently decided to put my 2003 ZHP sedan up for sale! ZHP Mafia.com was the first place I came to look for ideas for the best place to list her for sale. I see a ton of classifieds here, but also keep hearing BAT is the optimum place to list one of these for sale.. What do you guys think?

She has 89k miles on the clock, and is a really, really nice specimen. A08 Silver/Grey metallic (looks blue), with black leather. 6spd M/T. This car has no mechanical defects, and a ton of new parts on her. Also about to replace all the M/T shifter bushings/bearings, and replace the shift knob. BMW ended up sending a really unique shift knob I was not expecting to see!

Tried to upload a few pics here (even though I understand this is not the classified section) but the uploader doesn't like my files apparently :/ If I do decide to list her here (and not BAT) I'll create a new post, different pics, and attach the vehicle details sheet with all the option codes

Anyhow.. thank you for being here (to the entire community), and thank you DW for hosting/moderating!

Best,

Brian

Hello, Brian. Welcome to the forum!

You may need to resize your pics. I bet that's the issue.

For anyone that has bought, or sold a ZHP recently.. what are your thoughts regarding listing it here on the forum vs BAT?

I think this is a really nice/clean/low mile example.. and clearly looking to get the best price I can..

Thank you in advance for your input

BAT seems to be the best place for clean examples, especially if you can wait?

+1 on BaT. Just make sure you set a reserve that you are comfortable with.

I have a good friend who recently sold his ZHP, an Imola/NB interior with close to 90k miles, for around $17.5k and his car was well maintained and in exceptional condition. So this should give you a ball park for pricing for one of these cars in low mileage/well maintained/exceptional condition. Hope this helps :thumbsup

BaT is hit or miss. Sold a nice one on there, did OK.
As mentioned above, have a reserve you are comfortable with.

If no accidents and no rust, I'd say $15K-$17K, maybe a little more if you get two bidders going at it.

Welcome Brian and good luck with the sale!
Do start a thread and show us some pics though, we love to see beautiful E46s, especially in the best color ever, silbergrau!

Are coupes, verts, or sedans commanding more, or less? Again, this is a sedan with exactly 89,001 miles.

My aversion to no reserve would be (just my luck) I post it on a week when no one is looking for this car and it sells for $1k hahah.

I was expecting to get at least $15k based on what I've seen "sold" in the last year with higher mileage, hazy headlights, questionable tires, worn emblems, filthy interior, etc.. But I may not have the most desirable color combo and/or number of doors

Really appreciate all this input!!!

My friend's ZHP is a sedan. Pricing depends on how the car is optioned as well as what color the exterior/interior of the car is. The lower mileage and rarity of the car, the more money it will command as you know. If your car is as you are telling us, since I have not seen any high quality pics of the car outside/inside, you should expect to get above $15k for your car when selling it.

EDIT: I just saw your pictures from the above post. That shift knob is the BMW Performance shift knob. You are lucky that you got this! I would expect you to get above $15k for your car. As long as all maintenance is up to date and brakes are fresh, you should be good to go. Hopefully you will find the right buyer who will take just as good care of your car as you have! Good Luck!!!

we are a specialty garage that only services late model German autos.. we are extremely picky b@tches, with extremely high standards, and i would NEVER sell a car that is not up to my personal standards. based on what i/we see day in and day out with customers cars, and what i can gleen from pics and info on zhps that have sold.. this car will make someone very very happy :)

i cannot say thank you enough for all the input. this is all very very very helpful
