mtech definitely looks better with our upswept facelift headlights. csl bumper is best with your m3 headlights.

I remember it was wider when I was looking at it a long time ago. It's still not enough to be a perfect fit for the m3 fenders but it's a lot closer so there's less stretching you would have to do for the sedan vs. the coupe. I think the curvature is similar, at least on my car, it's just a lot wider so I had to stretch my bumper a whole lot to make it work.

Picked up a Thule 753 roof rack from a friend that totalled his M3 a few years back. Not sure if I'll use it for anything, but wanted to have it since it's NLA. Fits great and makes the red rocket look real sporty spice.

i now drive the wagon daily and though it feels the same inside interior wise in regards to where things are, space footprint etc... its is literally night and day from my sedan.


everything in the sedan feels brand new and nice and tight and responsive. clutch and engine are an animal compared to the daily and feels like such a more raw driving experience that I love. it really makes you appreciate the hard work put int your projects so much more.

I’ll admit I prefer coupe M3s to sedans (E36 M3/2 over the M3/4, E92 over the E90, F82 M4 over the F80 M3). I’ll even concede I prefer E46 facelift headlights on the sedan over PFL. But to call what Shawn has done anything short of a work of art is mind boggling.

And fwiw, BMW is embarrassingly putting M badges on everything these days. Hell, you’ll be able to get an M from the factory on each fender of a 320i if you check the right boxes when you order it. Shawn has an S54B32 under the bonnet. He’s he’s not a poseur, he’s absolutely earned that badge.

The way I see it is that the E46 m3 was (and still is) just one of the all time greatest cars, but the fact that it never came in a sedan body style (as the generations that came before and after it did) doesn't make it perfect. If I had to chose between dropping 50K on the IB over lotus white ZCP that sold on BaT over the weekend, of put 50K into transforming my ZHP into something similar to shawn's..... lets just say id be PMing him ALOT.

After three months off the road, it's good to have it back again. After dealing with that pulley issue a few months back, I just decided to pull everything. Plus one of the holes for the tensioner was kinda goofed. So I had a local shop drill and helicoil it for me. The bolt was working itself out while driving. Which is weird. Either way, fits now.

So, all new pulleys, standardized all the bolts that I could, and even replaced the water pump and fuel pump. Cause screw it. I was already knee deep in the engine bay and had both new pumps sitting in my parts pile. The shop is really good, and knew my standards. They handled a lot of back and forth for me.

The shop’s front person told me I did not get the best of Progressive’s people in the area, and said that might have been part of my crappy experience. But she also said even I’d been working with the really good guy it still would’ve been a “mediocre experience at best. They’re just not very good to work with.�

Typically too fat and too big but that goes for any car manufacturer nowadays... C pillar is enormous and dunno why they made fuel filler door so ginormous. I'll admit X2 beats Volvo XC40 any day.

But to be honest, I'm not crazy about any newer BMW models. They filled up everything from X1 to X7 which I think is one of the ugliest cars BMW made.

17x8.5 et 40, and some different continental tire that I was told are made "special for discount tire stores". So far I love everything about the new setup. Discount tire in Williamsburg va is awesome and I will definitely use them for mount and dismount for my next set of tires.

Really? I’ve never rolled my car ever & have completely stock suspension (for now), I’m looking for suspension suggestions but I question the need for coil overs for my self considering my car just see’s spirited driving and some mountain time the 1-2 times a year I go upstate

I very rarely have anyone in my back seat at all so as aggressive as it may be, It does rub slightly when 2 people are back there

I have M3 quarters in storage in case one day I ever decide to pull the trigger, but it would remain a facelifted sedan

Yea I never have backseat passengers either other than my dogs. Just to humor myself I’m going to put my 5mm spacers on my 9.5� ET45 rears with 255/35 PSS. I’m pretty sure I’ll rub just getting out of the driveway. I’m lowered on H&R Sports but I have a little bit of extra negative camber.

Yeah, I would never wash a car without soap... you want as much lubrication between the wash mitt and the paint as possible to prevent scratching. It gliding easily doesn't mean it isn't scratching! Just be careful my friend - Estoril is too nice of a color to scratch! :)

I paid to have it professionally clear coat corrected and ceramic. I paid a lot of money so I can buy back my time to keep this car clean and "detailed" looking. My whole front end is also wrapped in XPEL self healing wrap. I have easily made the money back in professional productivity with the time saved. It's not that I don't care about my car, it's that the car isn't my life as much as when I was younger so I would like to spend my resources to make it easy to maintain a shiny ride while enjoying the more important parts of my life which is not detailing my car constantly because I like it clean. LOL

LOLThanks for the advice. This is the route I plan to go. When I sealed the ZHP I spent all weekend washing buffing and clay barring the car. Made sure it was nice and smooth before sealing. If I knew of a professional place around here that I could trust I would strongly considering spending a good chunk of change to have some of these taken care of. Like you said, time is money.

I have no idea what is on my car right now but I'm usually cleaning dirt more than dust. It takes 300 miles to start showing any significant collection of dust and I love that balance. It's completely opposite as how I experienced with my ZHP and OEM pads. My braking performance is still the same as OEM ZHP. When I changed my ZHP to Stoptech Street performance pads, that completely transformed my wheel cleaning experience while still holding decent cold pad/rotor feel. If I needed to, I could still get into ABS with cold pads, so stopping power was never compromised. I may have lost a tiny bit of the initial bite/grab that OEM has but I gained a more linear experience.

I believe BMW went that route to give most drivers (who won't work brakes hard enough to get searing hot) a huge confidence boost knowing they can stop so effectively with a slight tap for city driving. What you give up with OEM (lots of dust) is the ability to repetitively stop from high-speed down to slow speed before brake fade sets in while I gain the ability to brake hard over and over again. Again you will have to find that balance "for you" in higher performance pads as there is no "perfect" pad for everyone.

I did a full parking brake rebuild last fall or this spring, I can’t remember which. My adjuster wheel was just a big, seized, rusty mess ([emoji1589] Canada). The only part to give me any grief was stretching the second spring once the first one is in place.

Not having to find perfectly level places to park made it worth the effort.

Drums just suck to work on all around compared to disc. Luckily, I had a drum brake kit laying around. Made the springs a piece of cake.
It is definitely worth the hassle.

Not quite... needs sway bar end links, an alignment, and desperately needs brakes front and back. The rotors have massive lips on the edges!
Just placed an order to address all that.

I absolutely love it. I like small phones, so I got the non-XL version, 128 GB. I am pleased with the size of the Pixel 3 non-XL; a lot more screen real estate compared to my original Pixel, while still being operable with a single hand. I haven't had any issues with it so far, and don't have to charge it at all throughout the day, even if using GPS. The battery truly does last all day with my light-to-moderate usage.

My Style 68 wheels are staggered as well, but I run squared tires. I rotate them front to back (directional tires) with no issues. It looks a little goofy putting 225 tires on a 8.5" wheel though, but I get over it because #wintermode. :)

I have 225s on my 8.5J fronts (CSL reps), albeit mine are only 40 sidewalls. Nate runs 235s on 9.5J.

My tires are square as well at 225. I think I just being to cheap and didn't bother to buy spacers.
I run the similar combination on my red zhp. I have staggered wheels, but square 205 wheels, which are even weirder. Not to mention that I cannot push on gas pedal in the corners.
You made me think about spacers Botond.
