i dont think mine works right. even during a 3 hr highways drive it still say 21.5 mpg for the last 4 weeks. anyways to reset it?

I just calculate at every fill-up. It's a more accurate indication of your recent mileage.

i know but i like the mpg tracker too =( and average speed. is that supposed to always change?

The onboard computer's MPG/MPH display is an average of the car's mileage/speed since last being reset (by holding the OBC button for a few seconds with the desired mode displayed); if you haven't reset it in a long time the average won't change quickly.

As Crickett said, if it hadn't been reset in a long time, it will take more than a few hours of driving to change it.

Just get the mpg mode up in the display and then push and hold the button in on the stalk until it resets.

I reset every couple of months.

I usually reset it every fill up so I can get a real time average on each tank...

Im at 19.7 for combined highway and city...win!

I like to compare the actual calulation with the OBC. The OBC is usually within 1/2 MPG above or below my actual calculation, depending on my driving style. The OBC on the ZHP is much more accurate than my E30 at calculating MPG. It's amazing what 15 years of technology will do. ;) I've been getting about 28-29 MPG lately with about 85% of those miles being highway/interstate.

The speed limit is 65 mph in some places and there is a stretch of 75mph interstate. I usually go about 2-3 mph over the speed limit. But the weighted average would probably put me closer to about 69-70 mph. I should make a note that I am able to use my cruise control about 90% of the time on those roads. There isn't usually much traffic that requires speeding up and slowing down.

you have to press and hold the button on the turn indicator knob for about 4 seconds for it to refresh itself then it will start telling you what your MPG is as you drive

Average speed is a good data point to go along with all of these super high mpg's. Or low mpg's.

Mine was 28mpg on recent 120 mile trip..........@ 70-75 mph.........cruise control on most of the time

My right foot is super heavy. They say it might be made of lead. I still get a tank average of 28mpg.

That's not bad at all dude. Trust me the idea of "lead foot" has been completely changed for me...lol

I've found that if I drive like a hypermiler, I can get 30-31 on a tank but it's no fun at all. It goes against why I bought this car in the first place.

Short-shifting, no rev-matched downshifts, driving at or under the speed limit at all times, lots of coasting, etc. Basically, duties that are more suited to a Prius.

Agreed. I still need to heel-toe this car...the gas pedal has a completely different feel to it. Not to mention the brakes are much softer and respond alot faster.

Driving alittle spirited though and loosing 2 MPG isn't bad at all. I went on a 1.5 hour spirited drive with some members and I watched my 20 MPG drop to 16.

On normal driving though, I've found this cars gear is 5th at 40 mph.
