Just bought my imola red ZHP. So happy with this car. It blows away my previous two BMW's ('99 323i and '97 318i) Gotta love the german performance. What mods should I consider first? straight pipes? angel eyes? ah so much to choose from :) pictures to come soon!

Hello! Welcome to the site! Definately in for pics!
What's the story on your ZHP? We fully support and encourage the esthetic and performance mods... but we're all pretty preventative-maintenance minded too. We'd like to see you enjoy your ZHP for many many more years.
How many miles? Are the maintenance records fairly complete - do you need anything there? When's the last time the cooling system was overhauled?
All that said, we've got a wide breadth of mods that folks have done around here... it all really comes down to personal preference. Do you want to handle looks or performance first?

Welcome to the site.
The typical list of mods with these cars include black kidney grills, angel eyes, discoloured roundels, painted or colored reflectors, euro clear lamps, and tint. Choose wisely, grasshopper. ;)

:thumbsup Good list spencers...
(a few things not mentioned)
power M3 side mirrors, carbon fiber on anything/everything (maybe not hood/trunk on Imola... but diffuser would look good), interior trim upgrade/downgrade, wheels, exhaust (BMW performance, Remus, or other), intake (BMW performance, AFE, or other), chip/computer re-program (Shark)
The list can go on and on.
Be sure to check out the signatures and threads of some of the other members and ask them what they think of the mods they've picked... there is good info out there...
Or start a thread with a desired piece to mod and throw up what you're thinking or ask for some direction.... the guys and gals wil jump right in with insights....

Mmmm....I am a purist. Keep it stock.
Did I dhu good Spencer?
My mods are in the below thread.

IMHO....wheels will make the biggest visual difference, followed by drawp...ahem...of course that is...if I was the modding type.
Then I would do A/E's, and the BMW performance strut bar and intake.
Followed by Shark/Dinan chip.
All the while taking an aggressive stab at maintenance.

Welcome! I'll offer a dissenting opinion: keep it stock for a bit until you can see (in person and online) all of the options then make the best decision for you. If you're in Delaware, then you could check out the family reunion (thread in the general forum) for about 30 ZHPs to check out. Oh, and good people, too.

Welcome. Like said before, take your time on modding. Get used to the car, find what you think could use a little help and work from there.

Good idea about seeing the ZHP combinations at the ZHP Mafia meet in Williamsburg, VA on June 10-12.

I just bought it from a lady about an hour from my house. She was about 50 years old and shatter her leg a couple years back and cant drive stick anymore. So its been sitting in the garage for the past few years and they start it up every month. Theres only 23k on the odometer! Angel eyes are a must on any bmw and Im thinking I might lower it but East coast roads kinda blow

Welcome. Good luck choosing the mods. My philosophy on my ZHP is mod but keep original parts in case I ever wanted to return it to the original state.
